Certainty in a changing world

Of course he did. Pandemics and cratering economies and millions thrown out of work are one thing, and sticking to a habit of racist name-calling is another.

Fifteen hours ago. No one has deleted it so far.

Stronger and more racist! If he has anything to say about it.

Updating to add: he’s “you’re not the boss of me”ing. One hour ago:

Loathsome disgusting poisonous man.

Because he can’t pronounce a new, unknown term like “Covid-19” or “coronavirus”. I did start with “Corvid-19”, as a member of the crow family, but I did learn.

But so stupid, just when some international co-operation could come in very useful.

I wish that were the reason, but I don’t think it is. I think it is what it looks like.

Supporting the industries, but not the people who do the actual work that keeps those industries afloat.

To KBPlayer’s comment and Ophelia’s response, I don’t see why it can’t be both. After all, Stephen Miller’s on the team.

But I think there’s something else going on too. The change in tone I think is less about Trump finally coming to his senses on the seriousness of what’s happening as his advisors realizing that there are only a few routes to his attention: money, vanity, racism, and vindication. I suspect they packaged a picture book of nasty Chinese people wrecking the stock market (in collusion with Democrats, natch) and attacking America with their horrid viruses. But he was right! He did the big boy thing and closed the borders to China.
