CBP is Customs and Border Patrol – who don’t have jurisdiction over domestic protests. Do they? That’s not how any of this works is it? Deranged fascist presidents can’t just call in bombers and prison guards and heavy artillery and Border Patrol whenever they feel like staging a tantrum, can they?

So is this the play for November? “I can’t win so I’ll just sic the Border Patrol on people I don’t like!”
This is all part of Trump’s gambit of distracting attention from the areas on which he’s clearly losing (coronavirus, the economy, basic competence) to ones where he thinks he’s got a shot (culture war, antifa, “defund the police,” “scary black people are coming for your suburbs!”). I don’t think the 1968 Nixon Playbook can save him, either, but I get why he wants to try it — the alternative of hoping corona goes away hasn’t looked very good so far.
I am rather amazed that Trumpenstein Von Pussygrabber never seems to mention the contents of his prayers. Possibly because he never says any. And that in turn could be for a number of reasons. No prizes for guessing any on my list.
