Yeah yeah yeah, we’re all impressed, but the point you’re missing here is that your house FULL of people is a risk to other people, people who are not you and not part of your “we.” It’s not tough or self-reliant or brave or clever to take risks that endanger other people as well as you.

It shouldn’t be a “liberal” monopoly to want to avoid spreading a lethal virus. Why do conservatives want to wave that particular flag?

I hope everybody who voted for Trump engages in such a rebellion.

Well they’re quite welcome to do so after a super-effective vaccine is in my veins…

Sadly, there have now been at least a couple of detailed reports written by Trump/Republican supporters talking about how they chose to ignore restrictions to have family/friend gatherings. Both detailed how everyone ended up seriously ill and some family members died. Part of me wants to roll my eyes and make a cynical joke about natural selection. It’s still a tragedy when people who are fairly run of the mill have their lives shattered this way, even when they or dominant relatives are at fault.

I’ll reserve my snark for really nasty pieces of work and I can’t be bothered to research Steven Crowder to see if he fits the bill.

Stand back for half (or more) of the state of Oklahoma to fall ill. The bedlam game last night between OU and OSU was packed. Not socially distanced, oh, no, that would be un-American and un-Oklahoman.

This used to be the kind of thing that conservatives would be all over. “We don’t need the government to impose rules, we have good strong community spirit that will ensure people do the right thing voluntarily! And we conservatives believe in community standards and personal responsibility, not like these ‘I do what I want’ liberal types!”
