This is nonsense. An amendment that muddies the definition won’t protect us.
Stella, the big problem isn’t bringing sex into the recording of hate crimes. It’s redefining misogyny to include gender as well as sex, which is what the amendment says. Gender is subjective, sex isn’t. Misogyny is about biological sex – and I wrote the book.

thank you for acknowledging this amendment brings in sex- something others are wilfully denying. I'm not prepared to give any offender of violence against women an out. This wording is in line with the Law Commission proposals as well.

yes I have kate. Repeatedly. Because to not do so is to say when a misogynist attacks a transwoman it isn't misogyny. Our focus is on identifying and preventing predators and ensuring all women are protected from them.

Well when X attacks a trans woman it isn’t misogyny, because trans women are men who call themselves women. The category “all women” doesn’t include men.
People are already protected in hate crime law if they are trans. The category that’s been left out is women. As I’ve said throughout this conversation, misogyny is hatred of biological women. It has nothing to do with gender identity.

Yes, and?
Misogyny can lead to attacks on males who present as females. It can also lead to attacks on females who present as males, homosexual males, homosexual females, heterosexual males, and heterosexual females. It can even lead to attacks on nonhuman animals and on inanimate objects, but all of that is irrelevant. What matters is what misogyny is. Misogyny is the hatred of female humans, whom in English we call women and girls.
Jesus Tap-dancing Christ, the language games and mutilation of logic in this bullshit is literally maddening. As in I lose points from my sanity score whenever I encounter it.
Obviously, homophobia includes violence against lesbians and gay men. But just how far does the same motive reach into anti-trans violence? TRAs probably won’t let anyone even ask.
