It occurs to me that the primary mechanism of weakening the Church(s) were scandals not dissimilar to this… Maybe that’s what it’ll take to kill the TERF wars?
What’s a “cropper” in this context? Google didn’t seem to help.

GW: To “come a cropper” means to fall over or to fuck up. Its origins are unclear. It’s especially apt when something overly elaborate fails in a spectacular fashion.
