Also I love the time-sensitive aspect. What happens in 2022 I wonder? Will everything have been reversed so that we have to focus on “Them” in order to fit “Them” in our worldview all over again but opposite?

This geezer remembers back in the day when the fight was about having people not firing you, beating you up, putting you in jail, or sterilizing you for being who you are and just doing your own thing.
Now it’s all about telling other people how they have to talk and what they have to do. “Trans rights” involve your mouth, and your brain.
My son went to required DEI training at college last week and sat next to a new friend from China, who was pretty thrilled to be stateside because he’s gay, and being gay can still get you in trouble in China.
My son had to calm down his new friend afterwards because the training sounded just like Maoism to him and he had a panic attack.
Ya he’s not the only one. “Cultural Revolution” sends its regards.
I can totally understand Leanne et al wanting to opt out of womanhood and gender. What gets my goat is she thinks saying “I’m non-binary” will do the trick. WTF does she think we have all been doing for years? Has she ever heard of Quentin Crisp? How butch women get beaten up for failing to perform femininity?
She and her cohort think everyone else is TOTALLY happy performing gender and they are the first ones not to.
It’s like they have never heard of feminism. Or even Bloomsbury.
So depressing.
My worldview is a bit of a couch potato, so where’s my worldview’s motivation? Really though, she could at least say “please”… Kids these days, so rude. :P
No but see “please” would subvert the whole point. This isn’t a courtesy, it’s MANDATORY, it’s the bare minimum we all have to do in order to pay sufficient attention to egomaniacs.

Yes. She’s got a finite time during which she gets to call the tune, and make us jump. After that, someone else More Important and Special Still takes the reigns and make demands. Then she becomes boring, old hat, and will be as compelled to follow the orders of these New Overlords as the rest of us are by her in the present moment. It’s like playing a game of musical chairs with the love children of Warhol’s “Fifteen minutes of fame” and Bixby’s “It’s a Good Life.”
One thing we need to keep reminding ourselves is that the genderspecials really, really believe that new discoveries in science have now revealed that “sex is a spectrum, trans people exist, and enbees are valid.” The only reason to point out the current year is to contrast it with the Dark Ages of Ignorance when the world was flat, animals were created in their present form, and children were divided up into “boys” and “girls” because nobody back in 2010 had ever heard of intersex or thought through the implications . If our worldview can’t account for THE FACTS, then we need to go back to school.
They/them should be alert to the possibility that they’ve mixed up who’s a teacher, and who’s a student. There have been no new astonishing discoveries here.
It’s 2021, slavery still exists, a pre-caliphate Islam still exists, empires still conquer and steal from neighboring nations, the Dems and Republicans have to look back eight decades and over a century respectively to find their greatest president, oh, and Black Lives Matter is back to being unpopular because a bunch of stupid children thought shouting slogans and rioting was more important than using that brief moment of good will to actually accomplish anything.
So what’s the point about the year?
Blood Knight, what does any of that mean in the face of the dreadful violence of misgendering? How can you think any of that matters more than pronouns? The most marginalized group EVER has spoken, and we must listen. We should stop thinking about any of that…or global warming…or creeping fascism…to center leanne. “They” might be very unhappy if we don’t validate “them”.
Never mind misgendering, iknklast, anyone can be misgendered. I know you, too, have faced the violence of miscapitalisation, but you with your luxury capitals have nothing of substance to complain about:
