It seems that she’s now throwing spaghetti against the wall to save herself from accusations of terfitude, not realizing that she has been marked as a transphobe and it’s not a stain that can be removed. The ship has sailed, the train has left the station, the feathers have been ruffled, and she has probably killed a trans person somewhere.

You would think Atwood, a likely candidate for a Nobel prize, would be in a position to tell those abusing her to go and f*** themselves, if anybody could. You would think at her age she could laugh at stupid accusations and say, I’m too old for this sh*t. What’s the point of having had a stellar career and general respect if you can’t do this?
Yes, and Atwood in particular, who has always written against the grain when it came to feminism. Several of her novels are on the theme of how godawful women can be, especially to other women, so it’s very odd to see her trying to be conventional and appeasing when it comes to trans dogma.
