The council states clearly

Political bodies think they have the power to change reality by passing motions.

A council can “state clearly” whatever it likes, but stating it doesn’t make it true.

A council can state clearly that carrots are alligators; that doesn’t make it true.

Also, it’s not “phobic” to spot an untrue statement.

Just as well. For most recipes, that would be an extremely awkward substitution. “We’re going to need a bigger stock pot!”

On a slightly related note, and I’ll probably get suspended due to this, a male in GB was all excited that he received his offically stamped GRC stating that he is now female. As if a declaration overrides nature by virtue of a government stamp.

I replied that he’s still a guy. I probably needed to be off Twitter for a while anyway.

The council states clearly that trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary people are non-binary.

Following which, the Norwich City Council proceeded to give clear, precise definitions of “woman,””man,”and “non-binary,” along with a clear, convincing argument for why beliefs about sex were more indicative of sex than sex. Then they broke for lunch. Unfortunately, the minutes for this closed-council meeting were lost, and video footage was accidentally erased by someone over-recording a grandchild’s birthday party.

A motion to revisit this historical event and distribute its result was voted down after consultation with LGBTQTTT+ groups, who unanimously expressed their distress over anyone feeling the need to justify their existence.

“Transphobic extremists are not welcome in Norwich!”

You mean, “ordinary people, who know what sex is” are not welcome in Norwich? Good to know.
