“After a woman was thrown out of the Scottish Parliament for wearing a scarf in suffragette colours on Tuesday, Labour MP Thangam Debonnaire, Conservative MSP Rachael Hamilton and SNP MP Joanna Cherry all seek to make sartorial statements in the chamber.”

I presume that the expusion was on a majority vote. How brainless are the MPs who voted for that?

No it wasn’t a vote, a member of staff did the throwing out.

I don’t see any of the exalted men there wearing suffragette colored ties. Whaddaya, skeered?

Those thrown out were all MPs, according to the tweet; for WEARING CLOTHING that A STAFFER disapproved of. The action of the staffer must have somehow had endorsement from the rest of the chamber. Otherwise, staffer looking for a new job soon enough.

No, that’s not what the tweet says; it was just the one woman, who is not an MSP, who was thrown out. The three MSPs wore the colors the next day.

Too bad they didn’t wear suffragette colors.
