It’s actually cunning. By publicly affirming the nonsense, people forge their own mental chains. Because they chained themselves, they’ll fight anyone trying to break those chains.

Well it’s cunning from the pov of Chase Strangio. From the pov of the ACLU as a whole, not so much. They sound like lunatics to most people. They’re torching a century of serious work.

I’ve watched some of the vids twice now. I’m hooked. I feel that I’m developing a firm footing with the proper language now to possibly engage in discussion about the subject.

Ophelia: I suspect that the ACLU is pretty ideologically uniform, and that uniform looks rather totalizing. Everything must be burned until the sweet smoke of their offerings appeases History and we are blessed with the End. Only then will the inclusive utopia come to be. Nothing else matters, because nothing else can matter.

I’ve been following Zach Elliot (he’s behind the Paradox Institute) for years now. I prefer his essays and stuff, but only because I have a short attention span for videos. Anyway, yeah, his stuff is terrific.
Strangio has absolutely destroyed the ACLU. On the last appeal for donations that I got from them, I wrote “I’ll donate $1000 when you fire Chase Strangio”. That was two years ago, and I haven’t gotten a donation-begging letter since.
