Are the women all erased yet?

“Scientific” American goes out of its way to pretend women don’t exist.

A study of more than 100 birthing parents showed that pregnancy and birth cause changes in brain circuits that may be involved in empathy and bonding with the child.

A handy little fact to know. Must bear it in mind in case I happen to give birth due to one cause or another. .

The males get the parental brain damage too… Doubt if it’s as severe minus the in-utero chemical overload.

    In the Nature paper:

In this paper, we use the term ‘women’ to refer to females whose sex matches their gender and ‘mothers’ to refer to females who were pregnant and gave birth to their children, in keeping with current practices in the field of parental neuroscience. This terminology will need to evolve to be more inclusive as the field expands to include gestational people whose sex and gender do not match.

So, the “terminology will need to evolve to be more inclusive”. The last sentence seems crazy to me.

    Crazy or calculatedly coldly outrageous.

Yes. I was too kind. Even if they use “women” to mean women they have clearly drunk the Kool-aid, and use “women” to mean women only because a more trans-favourable terminology hasn’t been sufficiently widely adopted yet.
