    Let’s face it. Allah has to be the archetypal celestial and theocratic knuckle-walker par excellence.. Or should that be ‘knuckle-dragger?’ It’s a tough one, so I will pray for guidance.

    I could expect this kind of talk in the Middle East, but how this credulous fool has any audience in Manchester is disturbing.

    When Mo wrote his book of “Men Make The Rules”, he plagiarised both Judaic and Christian writings.

    And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? … Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 31:15-18

    But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself. Deuteronomy 20:14

    Americans like to flagellate ourselves over the history of slavery here, but Arab slavery of Africans went on for centuries before we came around, and continues to this day.

    Yep, ol’ Mo got most of his worst ideas from the Jews (as did the Christians), then spun them further. Mind you, kidnapping women and children as spoils of war was pretty standard back in the bad old days; agrarian societies are labor intensive.

    Where the hell is this guy planning on getting his slaves from?

    Is that a message to the ISIS fighters? Or does he imagine England is going to invade Ireland again?

    How on earth is this part of modern Islam?

    There is no modern Islam. There are liberal Muslims, but to make Islam modern you’d have to start all over again.

    Papito: And European slave traders were not the ones going into the interior capturing the slaves. The coastal kingdoms became RICH through the slave trade. Wakanda would have been a slave power

    I read somewhere one reason for the easy establishment of colonies was the economies of the kingdoms collapsed after Britain started enforcing their abolition of the slave trade????

    During the conflict over slavery in the US, both sides found support for their positions in the Bible.

    Is there anything in the Koran that can be quoted in opposition to slavery?

    @Jim Bakery:

    There’s a lot of supplementary material to the Qu’ran; I’m sure you can find support *somewhere* in there.
