Up front and transparent

Trump promises to imprison everyone who resists him.

Trump would disagree he’s said that the way Colonel Jessup disagreed that he ordered the Code Red on Santiago.

I realize that the situation is really deadly serious, but That Idio[syncra]tic Capitalization! It makes me want to replace all “s”s with “f”s. (Yes, I know, Ye (or should I say þe) Olde Documents were really just using a form of “s” that looks like “f”).

I will be accusing all, left right and cetre, of cheating unless I win, and so I swear by Mein Kampf, which for us Drumpfs is a very sacred book.

#Seanna — I agree that it’s deadly serious, but at the same time it’s interesting to look at the Google Ngram for “fuck”. Virtually zero incidences between 1820 and 1980, with a large increase after 1980 (not surprising), but also a substantial decrease between 1800 and 1820, just the period in which the long s disappeared from use.

No jump during WW2? Norman Mailer led us to believe there was quite a lot of “fuck” among the GIs.

Well, in print anyways; always loved how Richard Sharpe would always use an “efficacious word” in appropriate circumstances.
