Focus on the nozzle
Donald Trump is going to “make America’s showers great again” by easing rules restricting water flow, the White House says.
The US president is ordering the energy secretary to rescind a change introduced by Barack Obama that restricted multi-nozzle showers from discharging over 2.5 gallons of water per minute overall. This served “a radical green agenda that made life worse for Americans”, the White House said, as Trump criticised the “ridiculous” amount of time he says it takes to wet his hair in the shower.
Suuuure it does, because he has such manly thick strong turgid hair it takes 10 times longer to soak it than it takes for average inferior people like the rest of us.

The short term practical effect is absolutely nothing… Who’s going to be tooling up these new shower heads in this economic environment? There isn’t a pressure knob an EO can turn on all our showers to change it.
Sure there is; it’s right becide the big faucet handle he used to turn the water back on in California to put out all those fires. Frankly I’m surprised he didn’t do both at the same time.
Well at least in that instance there was a flood gate they could open that would be implementing the spirit of the order… I dunno how you could implement this one except by maybe swapping out or modifying shower heads in the White House. It’s not like they have the ability to implement a nationwide showerhead exchange program (even if they had the supplies).
Wish he’d stick to signing shit like this and other pointlessly performative things.
I hate to say it, but in most shower heads there’s a little plastic flow restrictor that you can just pop out if you know how. They’re mostly the same, but you can google your specific shower head and find a how-to. The hardest part is putting the shower head back on the pipe without it leaking. Use plumber’s tape.
papito is correct. When I lived in Adelaide the low flow head worked great with city water pressure. On moving to a rural town with lower water pressure I had to do exactly what papito describes to get adequate flow. I haven’t done any measurements, but I am guessing I use no more water than previously, just getting back to the pressure I once had.
In Trumpland, of course, it’s all about the biggest numbers. Trump loves big numbers. Big numbers mean he’s the winner. It’s why his tariff imposts aren’t rational, just based on getting some big numbers out there to show the rubes he’s tough and a winner. And I cannot imagine just how much water Trump needs to wash of his makeup! But it must be a huuuuge amount.
Do you think he washes himself? Or does some unfavored suck up do it?
BKiSA, I’d imagine it similar to how zookeepers clean elephants: hosepipes and yard brushes.
I’ll have you know I have experience of giving elephants showers, and yes, we did indeed use long-handled brushes – more because the phants loved it than because there was any real need to scrub them.
I think that with Trump the brushes would be used so nobody has to touch him.
You can never have a pole that’s too long for that job.
