Guest post: Right across the bodies of children
Originally a comment by Papito on Dragging more people into the maelstrom.
The trans ideology is at its worst when it draws the line of battle with women and the same-sex attracted right across the bodies of children.
The idea of “trans children” came about because adult men who modify themselves surgically to look more like women never pass as women, so they think if only they had started the modification before puberty they’d pass. So they project their inner turmoil, self-hatred, and sexual kinks onto other people’s children. Children are easy to manipulate, and the nerdy ones are always looking for an explanation as to why they don’t fit in. Throwing them a glitter party and calling them brave if they say the reason is because they’re trans is irresistible to many. Some of the parents are likewise gullible and will become boosters of their own children’s sterilization and mutilation; some are not, and this cult may break those families.
The next step after convincing a kid to say they’re trans is to elevate that statement above any other. A kid can say they want to be a musician and the parents say that’s great, let’s get you lessons, knowing that by the time college graduation rolls along the kid will likely have found a profession that pays. A kid can say they want to be an astronaut and parents will say that’s great, you have to study calculus and get in shape. A kid can say they’re emo, not goth, and the parents will say super, we’ll save on white pancake makeup. Anything a kid identifies as, parents understand it might change, and in the long run it doesn’t matter, a kid has to go through a lot of different phases, and can be motivated to learn things from any of them. But the job of the trans cult is to make sure the kid never grows out of saying they’re trans, which they would without intervention.
That’s what the gender centers are for, and the puberty blockers. Their stated function is to prevent the puberty that would develop secondary sex characteristics, and thus make the eventual trans adult pass better. Their practical function is to prevent the adolescent brain from growing, and prevent the kid from growing out of the phase where they identify as trans. Can we lock in a poet phase, or a scout phase, or a train-lover phase? No, but we can lock in a trans phase, medically. And we can train a generation of doctors to lie to children and parents and say they will kill themselves if we don’t.
Every day a new family is thrown into years, and perhaps a lifetime, of pain because someone has sold the trans lie to their child. There will never be a righting of this wrong, there will never be accountability for all the doctors and teachers and therapists who pushed this snake oil, who decided the line of battle for a kink ideology had to be fought over the bodies of children.

Two excellent consecutive guest posts!
This place attracts the best commenters. Thank you for the explanation, and the (frankly terrifying) way you described what has been going on.
It’s all part of my cunning plan. One eloquent post inspires another eloquent post; everybody wins.
I’m a bit more cynical. I wonder how many of the adult men leading or directing this movement have put themselves through “gender confirming” surgical procedures? How many limit themselves to cross dressing and forcing their wills on women? I don’t think they really care about these children “passing” later in life. If they were genuinely concerned with the welfare of so-called “trans kids”, they would allow desistance to play out, and they wouldn’t be filling their heads with the strategy of using suicidal ideation as a bargaining tool. Roping the kids in is just more forced teaming. There’s also the creation of a devoted cadre of True Belivers and human shields who have committed their own (and/or their children’s) bodies to the cause, who are going to be driven by the power of the sunk-cost fallacy and the faint hope of “just one step further and I’ll have ‘arrived’. Think Red Guards with extreme body modification.
Then there are the clinicians and surgeons who are supposed to be “experts” on this. It’s their reputations at stake, but it’s not their bodies on the line. The practionioners can’t very well turn around and say they were mistaken, but they haven’t paid the price in flesh and blood. All of their “happy” patients experiencing short-lived “trans euphoria” prove how “expert” they are, and recruit more willing, misguided marks. Follow-ups are just asking for trouble, even though they would be key to improving results and limiting “procedures” to those very few (if any?) who might actually benefit from extreme, surgical intervention. Instead, the regreters and detransitioners are swept under the rug or dismissed as weak and unprepared, not special or brave enough. The astrologers and faith healers are always correct; any failure is always the fault of the victim.
Chilling, clear, and well written.
I suspect the ‘conversion’ process is worked primarily on the parents. Once they are on board, the child’s feelings and thoughts are irrelevant.
This brings up the reasoning behind the concept of ‘age of consent.’ In the West, child marriage is outlawed for very understandable reasons, having to do with the inevitable inexperience and innocence of children, and the ability of adults, and particularly those with agendas of their own, to exert influence and control.
But there is a solution to the problem raised by
OBPapito inher threadstarterthe guest post: “The idea of “trans children” came about because adult men who modify themselves surgically to look more like women never pass as women, so they think if only they had started the modification before puberty they’d pass.”Those adult men could pass as women of any age, and pretty convincingly these days, if they dressed themselves in dark tents, as Muslim women are dressed, particularly in the East, eg Pakistan. They could overcome any disadvantage brought on by the fact that men are generally taller than women by having both their legs surgically cut off below the knees, OR by making their purdah tents large enough for them to walk on their (suitably cushioned) knees without their feet sticking out from under the tent. They could do this without converting to Islam, PROVIDED they went everywhere with a bloke they could pass off as their husband, as unaccompanied Muslim women in tents would likely raise suspicion amongst genuine Muslim passers-by. A fatwah, or even a jihad could be the result.
Which just goes to confirm the old saying: Where there’s a will, there’s a way.. And it has to be better than surgical modification of genitalia.

I think this “trans child” narrative was created to sell the ideology to the public. Prior to the 2010s, the public conception of a “transsexual” was an adult man who had undergone “Gender Reassignment Surgery” in middle age. This wasn’t necessarily a demographic that would win over the enormous amounts of public sympathy that the new movement demanded.
Especially when many of these “transsexual” people actually were male heterosexual fetishists who had become addicted to cross-dressing. *
Then TV programs like “I Am Jazz”, “Butterfly” and “Big Mouth” appeared and helped sell the new concept of the “trans child” and the “trans teenager” to the public.
Of course obsessive mothers like Susie Green and Jeanette Jennings were already “on board”. They arranged for the public alternation of their sons’ bodies to fit their 1950s view of sex stereotypes, and were also important in pushing the new dogma to the public.
* Don’t underestimate the role of increasing available, and increasingly extreme, online pornography in warping the sexuality of such men.
I think the “trans child” narrative grew organically out of soil fertilized by multiple good intentions. We needn’t assume bad actors — it’s not only unnecessary but more discouraging if we don’t. Teens and children looking for an explanation and fix for their mounting levels of anxiety and depression; social media forums as an easy way to make friends and stay up to date on the latest fads; parents eager to believe their children and be supportive; academics trying to move feminism and civil rights to the next level of liberation from prejudice; adults who don’t pass wanting to spare versions of their young self from heartache, etc etc.
But it generally amounts to the same thing.
You mean less discouraging, right?
No, I think in a way it’s more because the task is harder. A lying, manipulating enemy concerned only with self is a relatively simple villain. As with fighting zombies, there’s little concern about learning to compromise or persuade: do what you have to do. They’re not like us, they actively mean harm.
Nice, intelligent people with good intentions fighting us under the impression we’re the ones who are like zombies? Oh shit.
