Ya it’s always encouraging to see public safety unions shouting that men are women and that women should shut up.
The interim guidance is unworkable, unhelpful and will only lead to an increase in discrimination for workers, including in fire stations and in control rooms. Trans people are not a threat. Gender-based violence and misogyny are.
Trans ideology is misogyny, and it triggers violence against women.
This only works if you believe women are not anyone. If women are no one, then you can say this with a high degree of accuracy. If we are someone, it is stunningly untrue.
“Minoritized”?!
GW: Yes, just like “marginalized”. The idea is that everything—and I do mean everything—is an application of political power. Groups are not minorities; they are placed in the minority relation by those with power. This framing allows any dynamic to be interpreted through the lens of Conflict Theory, in which the privileged group constructs The System so as to perpetuate and legitimate its own privilege by setting the parameters of discourse and knowledge to marginalize other groups. It’s a sufficiently simplistic framework that it’s basically just a mad lib.
Well, you can, but you might be asked an extensive series of questions to determine your attitude to delusionary gender beliefs, followed by a polygraph once the crew arrives. If you pass these tests, they stick around to help you stare at the charred remains of what was once your home. If you fail, well, you had it coming, didn’t you?.

I think that the concept of “minoritized” in itself is valid – women are not a minority, but they are treated as one.
I think it’s simpler than that. The word “minority” has become a synonym for “group treated as inferior” – but that’s not what the word means. It never has been. The issue isn’t that women are treated as the sex with fewer members, it’s that women are treated as the inferior sex. Confusing “minority” with “treated as inferior” is just a mistake. Jargon creates confusion chapter eleventy billion.
