I see. Paying attention to women is not incloosive; ignoring and disappearing women is incloosive. If you want to be a good incloosive justicey person you will immediately stop talking about women. If you are a woman you will of course shut up entirely.

We are proud to announce the launch of the Leadership, Influence & Inclusivity in Law Awards a dynamic evolution of what was formerly the Women, Influence & Power in Law UK Awards.
This year, the awards take on a broader and more inclusive scope, recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals who are shaping the future of the legal profession—whether through innovative leadership, impactful influence, or meaningful advancement of inclusion within the field.
Why the change?
As the legal sector continues to evolve, so too must the ways in which we celebrate excellence. While we remain deeply committed to highlighting the achievements of women and under-represented groups in law, the new Leadership, Influence & Inclusivity in Law Awards reflect a more expansive vision—one that embraces leaders of all identities who are making a tangible difference.
We look forward to celebrating the trailblazers and allies who are redefining leadership in the legal world!

It would never ever happen. But when it’s women? Oh well, that’s completely different. Women don’t get to be highlighted because women don’t matter, women don’t count, women have to make lunch, women have to spread their legs, women have to shut that fucking baby up right this second, women are stupid, women are bitches, women are cunts, women should be ignored and buried.

I will say, the moment I see the word ‘impactful’. my receptiveness shuts down immediately. I absolutely hate the academic administrator speak that has crept into everything. Other ‘I’ words that make me see red are ‘influencers’ and ‘inclusive’. ‘Intersex’ is reaching that status, too.
I hope all this is readable; my cat decided I needed help with typing, and positioned herself right between me and the keyboard. I learned touch typing a long time ago, but I can’t promise anything.
“Impactful” is my most hated word and has been for YEARS. Horrible bureaucratic newspeak.
Years ago we had a cat who would help us with our reading in exactly the same way. He assisted us at Scrabble too, to similar effect. One of our alternate names for him was “Your Opaqueness.”
I think I would have been crap at Braille, and it wouldn’t have worked for pictures.

I came across someone who called themselves a “micro-influencer”, which I think must be as close as one can be to being nothing, yet still draw breath.
“Content creator” doesn’t start with an “I” but its welcome is worn out. Clearly they don’t paint, write, play music, or anything else that already has a proper word to denote it, otherwise they would use that word instead. I think that the “content” these “creators” make consists primarily of themselves talking into a camera about…whatever, in hopes that they will become- wait for it- an influencer. The “unexamined life” might not be worth living, but we sure could do with a good deal more unbroadcast ones.
These types wouldn’t have made the cut for the B Ark.
On the contrary; since the whole point of the B Ark was to enable the Golgafrinchans to rid the planet of ‘middlemen’ – people who were regarded as useless (although they were told that they were the most important, and needed to be saved first from what was actually an entirely fictional and implausible threat) -influencers would have been the first who were given tickets. Indeed, if the deportation into outer space of the same demographic were to be carried out by the people of Earth in the twenty-first century, the B Ark would be so filled by influencers, flat-Earthers, anti-vaxxers, incels, sex-denialists, post-modernists and MRAs that there would be no room for the telephone sanitisers, and so we’re not doomed to be wiped out by a disease contracted from a dirty telephone.
Mind you, as infuriating as this is, since we all know which ‘identity’ they are talking about wanting to make sure gets included in the awards, one could read this as a tacit, albeit cowardly, acknowledgement that they’ve actually lost the war–they can no longer with a straight face give “Women’s awards” to men in skirts.
