On the one hand you have Pete, a man, and yes women are allowed to tell Pete to get out of their space, and on the other hand you have Upton, a man, and no women are not allowed to tell Upton to get out of their space because…uh…uh…uh…
Good grief. Has Searle been living under a rock?! There is an ongoing campaign, complete with dedicated organisations, trying to get men out of women’s prisons. There have been assaults of women in prison by men who blatantly lie about being women after being arrested or locked up for sex crimes. Around 50% of male prisoners falsely claiming to be female are inside for sex crimes – five times the general rate.
Oh, but Searle won’t be a reader of the kind of newspaper which reports this, will she? Or a watcher of independent news outlets in general. Only The Guardian for someone of her class, and only the Beeb on TV and radio.
