It doesn’t come right out and say our support is for team trans only, but the mawkish wording is all too typical of that particular brand of “support.” The right-thinking people these days see trans people as needing endless declarations of love and support and sympathy and more love, while they see women who know men are not women as The Evil Other needing nothing but rebuke and punishment. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to “share my thoughts” with them.
I had a similar email from my office, and I read it in two ways – first, ‘we are very sorry for you and if you’re sad please contact us to tell us how sad you are’ sounded infantilising to me, but perfectly pitched to the likely ‘affected’ audience; second, we’re not actually going to do anything against the law but we want to make sure you know how sad we are on your behalf. So at least for my office it seemed like CYA. (Clearly a different situation here, when we’re talking about a union whose job it actually is to protect its members from what Peggie has been subjected to.)

Trans ideology/activism is so infantilizing.
