By “hypothetical” he means “random”
Poor Euan Weddell. He’s just not very bright.
Pointless question, bro. Knowing that men are not women is not comparable to racism. Even if you disagree with that knowing, even if you think it’s mean and harsh to act on that knowing, it’s still not comparable to racism.
And to look at it from the other angle, campaigning to force women to agree that men can be women is not comparable to campaigning to force segregationists to stop segregating people by race.
Random comparisons of non-comparable things are not a clever way to make a point.

And I identify as a giraffe (non-trans.) Pronouns: Grongk / whinny / eyeore. Except of course, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
In the one case the women are saying “we don’t want her here because she’s the wrong kind of woman.”
In the other case the women are saying “we don’t want him here because he’s not a woman – he’s a man.”
They really, really want to frame the issue as someone being the wrong type, or acting the wrong way, or being different or lesser. They don’t want it to look like we’re just recognizing sex categories. Shifting the situation isn’t just a strategy, I think. In many cases they’ve been so steeped in the idea that judgements are bad (“who are we to say someone else is wrong?”) that they can’t tell a rational judgement from the bigoted kind of judgmental.
