Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, blasted Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr on Friday for threats he made this week related to Jimmy Kimmel’s show, calling the Trump administration official’s actions “dangerous as hell.”

“I think it is unbelievably dangerous for government to put itself in the position of saying we’re going to decide what speech we like and what we don’t, and we’re going to threaten to take you off air if we don’t like what you’re saying,” Cruz said on his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz.”

“I like Brendan Carr. He’s a good guy, he’s the chairman of the FCC. I work closely with him, but what he said there is dangerous as hell,” Cruz said.

Cruz is chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over the FCC. He warned Carr’s actions could have long-term consequences.

Cruz went on to say Friday: “I hate what Jimmy Kimmel said,” but likened Carr’s comments about Disney taking the easy way or the hard way to a classic mob movie. I gotta say, that’s right out of ‘Goodfellas.’ That’s right out of a mafioso coming into a bar going, nice bar you have here, it’d be a shame if something happened to it,” Cruz said.

There are interns being thrown over the bannisters in the White House this evening. Judge tells Trump to redo his lawsuit so that it’s not so tedious and moronic.

A federal judge tossed Donald Trump’s $15bn defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, book publisher Penguin and two Times reporters, and said the suit was filled with “vituperation and invective” and violated civil procedure in federal cases for failing to get to the point.

So one has to wonder why Trump’s lawyers didn’t tell him that instead of letting him make a fool of himself? Sabotage?

Anyway, the Guardian account is a treat.

[Judge]Merryday cited Rule 8(a) of the federal rules of civil procedure requiring a complaint include a short and plain statement of the claim…

“Alleging only two simple counts of defamation, the complaint consumes eighty-five pages,” Merryday wrote. “Count I appears on page eighty, and Count II appears on page eighty-three … Even under the most generous and lenient application of Rule 8, the complaint is decidedly improper and impermissible.”

It’s impossible not to shriek with laughter at that. It’s so Trump. 85 pages of vituperation and invective before finally getting to the point.

Merryday noted the “many, often repetitive, and laudatory (toward President Trump) but superfluous allegations,” and “much more, persistently alleged in abundant, florid, and enervating detail”.

The judge’s order does not address the truth of the allegations nor the validity of the claims, but said “a complaint remains an improper and impermissible place for the tedious and burdensome aggregation of prospective evidence, for the rehearsal of tendentious arguments, or for the protracted recitation and explanation of legal authority putatively supporting the pleader’s claim for relief.”

So did he get his lawyers from the local detox center, or what?

A new transparency row has emerged as the fallout from the Sandie Peggie employment tribunal row continues.

The Herald can reveal that health chiefs have refused to reveal another key piece of information regarding how the legal fees are covered.

It was revealed on Wednesday that the Central Legal Office (CLO), which is part of the NHS’s National Service Scotland unit, and appoints barristers on behalf of health boards, said there was “no legitimate” case to reveal the hourly rate paid to Jane Russell KC.

No legitimate case? Really? For people to know how much of their money is being pissed away on pretending a man is a woman?

However, the CLO -which is a publicly funded body –  and NHS chiefs have been accused of “shameful secrecy” by Tory MSP Tess White. North East MSP Ms White said during a parliamentary debate in Holyrood that her understanding was the legal bill from NHS Fife currently sat at around £600,000.

Ms White, the equalities spokeswoman for the Scottish Tories, told The Herald: “This is just the latest example of the shameful secrecy that NHS Fife has displayed in its witch hunt against Sandie Peggie. Taxpayers have a right to know how much of their money was squandered by the health board defending the indefensible.”

Well quite. It’s public money and it’s being thrown away on pretending huge smug rich dude Theo Upton is not a dude.

Why does it surprise anyone that the Neville Chamberlain approach doesn’t work any better with Trump than it did with Hitler?

Late last year, ABC News spent $16 million to settle a defamation lawsuit with President Donald Trump. At the time, you could squint and see the business sense of it: Just pay up, say you’re sorry and this will all blow over.

Or, pay up, say you’re sorry, and next time the demand will be much higher. Which is more likely?

Across Corporate America, companies are learning the hard way that giving Trump what he wants won’t appease him — it will only stoke his appetite. (It seems some folks have forgotten the sage wisdom underpinning Laura Joffe Numeroff’s 1985 classic “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.” Spoiler alert: The mouse has some more demands.)

Not to mention the sage wisdom underpinning the widespread awareness that Chamberlain got it all profoundly wrong. We have been here before. Chamberlain’s policy was called, with disdain or rage, appeasement. You can’t appease a Hitler and you can’t appease a Trump.

ABC in December agreed to donate $15 million to Trump’s presidential library and pay $1 million in legal fees to the law firm of Trump’s attorney. It also published an editor’s note expressing regret for an on-air misstatement by George Stephanopoulos. The case had centered on the anchor’s imprecise wording around the 2023 verdict that found Trump liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s. (Under New York law, Trump was not found liable for “rape,” as Stephanopoulos had characterized it.)

It doesn’t get any more squalid than that. Our revolting head of state forcibly shoved his revolting hand onto and into Carroll’s crotch, without her invitation or consent. He’s such a revolting human that he makes a big fuss about the word “rape” and extorts money to appease his big fuss. ABC should not have rolled over. Obviously.

Nine months after ABC conceded that fight, the network decided to throw in the towel on a fight that hadn’t even begun.

Just hours after the head of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr, made vague threats to suspend ABC’s broadcast license over comments by Jimmy Kimmel during his show, the network pulled the plug on the comedian’s late-night show indefinitely.

So, what’s next? Requiring Trump’s approval before hiring any new talent? Firing some old talent just in case Trump might not like them? Begging Trump to send a list of people he would like to see chatting about him on the talk show benches?

On Thursday, Trump and other Republicans insisted that Kimmel’s suspension was a decision driven by poor viewership rather than punishing dissent.

“He had bad ratings more than anything else,” Trump said. Senate Majority Leader John Thune echoed that sentiment, saying Kimmel was simply a victim of market forces and that the network made “economic market decisions.”

On Air Force One on Thursday, Trump also appeared to depart from the “business decision” line and acknowledge that he just really doesn’t like being made fun of and thinks networks’ broadcast licenses should be revoked if they air overwhelmingly negative perspectives on him.

“When you have a network and you have evening shows and all they do is hit Trump, that’s all they do,” he said. “They’re licensed. They’re not allowed to do that.”

Yes they are. Yes, sir, they are. I would draw your attention to a little document known as the Bill of Rights aka the first ten amendments to the Constitution, in particular the first of said ten. Evening shows are in fact allowed to tell the truth about Donnie from Queens.

Texas A&M University swiftly fired a lecturer and removed two administrators after a student filmed herself arguing with the instructor that a children’s literature course broke the law because the coursework recognized more than two genders.

The student cited President Trump, who has signed an executive order saying his administration would push for the recognition of only two genders. After the video taken by the student was posted on social media, Republican politicians in the state, including the governor, demanded quick action from the public university, accusing the instructor of “blatantly indoctrinating students in gender ideology.”

The school’s moves were condemned by advocates of academic freedom, who say they reflected a state that was veering into authoritarianism at a moment when the Trump administration was using the weight of the federal government to target speech it disfavors.

On the one hand we don’t want the state micromanaging what universities teach, especially when the state=Donald Trump. On the other hand we don’t want universities teaching lies as settled knowledge. On the other other hand, religious universities teach lies as a matter of course, so what do we do with that?

Amanda L. Reichek, a lawyer for Dr. McCoul, said she was “never instructed to change her course content” before being fired.

“In fact, Dr. McCoul taught this course and others like it for many years, successfully and without challenge,” Ms. Reichek said in a statement. “Instead, Dr. McCoul was fired in derogation of her constitutional rights and the academic freedom that was once the hallmark of higher education in Texas. She has appealed her termination and is exploring further legal action.”

But should she be teaching actual absurd lies that are harmful to the less powerful half of the population? But if the answer is no, who is going to be doing the enforcing?

Academics have worried about a deteriorating environment for free expression on college campuses since Mr. Trump took office and began an attack on higher education over the perceived liberal bent of many campuses. 

Yes, but on the other hand, women have worried about students being taught systematic lies about gender and sex, lies that leave women worse off than we already are.

There’s murder, rape, assault…and then there is Facebook commentary.

Police have become embroiled in a free speech row after officers told a cancer patient to apologise for a social media post.

Said police went to her house to tell her to apologize for a Facebook post. Meanwhile rape goes uninvestigated.

Deborah Anderson, an American citizen living in Slough, was confronted by an officer from Thames Valley Police after someone complained about an offensive Facebook post.

Well you see it’s like this. It’s hard work tracking down a rapist. Some Yank saying something on Facebook? Like rolling off a log.

The mother of two, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, was told that if she did not apologise for the comments she could be interviewed at the police station.

Listen, they would love to browbeat the rapists too, really they would, but the rapists are hard to find. Some woman saying something on Facebook is a doddle. She’s right there in her house! Could not be easier!

Ms Anderson was visited at home by a single officer in June and informed that Thames Valley Police had received a complaint about her.

In a video shared by the FSU, the officer said: “Something we believe you have written on Facebook has upset someone.”

Ms Anderson then asked: “You’re here because someone got upset? Is it against the law? Am I being arrested?”

The officer confirmed that she was not being arrested and explained: “My plan was that if it was you who wrote the comment, you could just make an apology to the person.”

Ms Anderson replied: “I am not apologising to anybody, I can tell you that.”

The officer told her: “The alternative would be that I would have to call you in for interview.”

Why? Why would he have to? And why do the police never ever ever go after men who threaten women with rape or rape plus murder on Facebook or anywhere else?

We’ll never know.

One of these is not like the others.

When Barack Obama visited Windsor Castle in 2016, he and Michelle traveled in a plain black Range Rover, greeted by only a handful of royal guards ahead of a private lunch with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Eight years earlier, his predecessor, George W. Bush, made do with afternoon tea and a quick palace tour. But neither of them valued regalia, resplendence and royal associations quite like Donald Trump.

Because they were aware that there were more important things to focus on, and so they should focus on them. Trump is a child. He is very genuinely a child in his thinking, despite the grown-up hobbies like golf and rape. Only a child or Trump would be damn fool enough to let the world see his babyish glee at being asked to din-dins, and only a child or Trump would think the invitation was some kind of compliment to him as a person and charismatic miracle.

Trump’s two-day agenda begins with a carriage procession through the Windsor Castle estate, escorted by mounted cavalry, as part of a full ceremonial welcome. From the castle’s east lawn, the first couple will witness a flyover by the Royal Air Force’s aerobatic team, the Red Arrows, and a military ceremony known as a “beating retreat” — neither of which has ever been deployed during a state visit before. 

There it is again. They know they have a child on their hands, and they act accordingly. “Oooh look Donnie, the planes go RRROWRRRR, isn’t it exciting?”

This combination of old-world luxury and military posturing is bound to please the president, especially if his recent Washington DC military parade and goldification of the Oval Office (which is now embellished with numerous gilded ornaments) are anything to go by. 

Which, of course, they are, because why would they not be? Infantile man does infantile thing, which broadly hints that he is in fact infantile.

The NY Times on the state censorship:

ABC announced on Wednesday evening that it was pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show “indefinitely” after conservatives accused the longtime host of inaccurately describing the politics of the man who is accused of fatally shooting the right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.

The abrupt decision by the network, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company, came hours after the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr, assailed Mr. Kimmel and suggested that his regulatory agency might take action against ABC because of remarks the host made on his Monday telecast.

The network did not explain its decision, but the sequence of events on Wednesday amounted to an extraordinary exertion of political pressure on a major broadcast network by the Trump administration.

It’s a shot across the bows. Watch what you say or you will be next.

The comments at the center of this week’s firestorm came during Mr. Kimmel’s opening monologue on Monday night. “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” the host said.

Mr. Carr, in an interview on a right-wing podcast on Wednesday, said that Mr. Kimmel’s remarks were part of a “concerted effort to lie to the American people,” and that the F.C.C. was “going to have remedies that we can look at.”

“Frankly, when you see stuff like this — I mean, we can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Mr. Carr told the podcast’s host, Benny Johnson. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the F.C.C. ahead.”

How gangsterish. We can do this the easy way, you jump when we say jump, or we can do it the hard way, we use the power of the state to force you to jump.

Late Wednesday, Sinclair, another owner of many local TV stations, said that it would also suspend Mr. Kimmel’s program, and called on Mr. Kimmel to apologize and “make a meaningful personal donation” to Mr. Kirk’s family and the activist’s political group, Turning Point USA.

Now there’s a new one. We will wreck you, and also, give us a lot of money. Censorship plus extortion: our exciting news media future!

Mr. Schumer, the Democratic leader, denounced the pressure on ABC from the Trump administration as “despicable, disgusting, and against democratic values,” and compared it to the playbook of autocratic Chinese and Russian leaders.

“Trump and his allies seem to want to shut down speech that they don’t like to hear,” Mr. Schumer said on CNN. “That is not what democracies do. That is what autocracies do…”

Late on Wednesday, after ABC pulled Mr. Kimmel, Mr. Carr went on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program and described the actions by Nexstar and Sinclair as “unprecedented.”

“I’m very glad to see that America’s broadcasters are standing up to serve the interests of their community,” Mr. Carr said. “We don’t just have this progressive foie gras coming out from New York and Hollywood.”

At the very moment Trump was befouling the dinner table at Windsor Castle with his presence. Foie gras enough yet?

Huh. I stupidly assumed that Jimmy Kimmel had said something flippant or callous about Kirk himself, but oh gee whaddya know he didn’t do any such thing. What he said was that the trumpies are using Kirk’s murder for their own trumpy ends. Should that be protected free speech? You’re god damn right it should.

The Graun yesterday:

Politicians, media figures and free speech organisations expressed anger and alarm at the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show, warning that critics of Donald Trump were being systematically silenced.

ABC announced it was suspending Jimmy Kimmel Live! indefinitely after comments Kimmel made about Charlie Kirk’s killing led a group of ABC-affiliated stations to say it would not air the show.

That wording illustrates why I thought Kimmel joked about the killing.

In his monologue on Monday, Kimmel said that “we hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” On Tuesday he said Trump was “fanning the flames” by attacking people on the left.

It’s meta commentary on the shooting; it’s commentary on the political exploitation of the killing; it’s not in any way dismissive or callous about the killing itself. It’s extremely sinister and alarming that ABC took the dictator’s orders and punished the commentary.

ABC, which has aired Kimmel’s late-night show since 2003, moved swiftly after Nexstar Communications Group said it would pull the show, saying Kimmel’s comments about Kirk’s death “were offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse”.

No they weren’t. That’s a revolting lie. It’s not insensitive to say that Trump and the trumpies are exploiting the murder. It’s no doubt offensive to the trumpies, but so what?

Two words. Horst Wessel.

Another giant leap down the road to dictatorship:

Weaponize the levers of government for partisan political gain. Pressure privately owned media companies to toe the party line. Punish the owners who resist and reward the ones who acquiesce.

That’s how Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán consolidated control of the media in his country, according to scholars who witnessed Hungary’s democratic backsliding firsthand.

And Trump is doing the same.

Using legal maneuvers, financial incentives and public pressure campaigns, Trump is persuading companies to make changes that benefit his party and bolster his own power. Wednesday’s decision by Disney’s ABC to sideline Jimmy Kimmel is the latest example.

Not so much persuading as pushing and coercing.

Free speech groups like the ACLU warned that the Kimmel suspension is part of a broad Trump-led effort to silence his critics.

“This is beyond McCarthyism. Trump officials are repeatedly abusing their power to stop ideas they don’t like, deciding who can speak, write, and even joke,” the ACLU said. “The Trump administration’s actions, paired with ABC’s capitulation, represent a grave threat to our First Amendment freedoms.”

Disney settled Trump’s defamation lawsuit against ABC last December rather than defending itself in court, and Paramount settled Trump’s suit against CBS last July, even though legal experts said Paramount had a very strong case.

The president is now suing both The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

Which the activists say.

The Liberal Democrats are facing a transgender row at their conference over party rules that allow biological men to take women’s posts. Gender-critical activists have launched an attempt to force Sir Ed Davey’s party to bar trans women from taking female roles.

The group, Liberal Voice for Women, will use the party’s annual meeting in Bournemouth, set to start on Saturday, to call for a vote on changing party rules, to bring them into line with April’s Supreme Court ruling. The current rules allow those who “self-identify as women” to stand for party posts set aside for women, which the activists say dilutes the chance that biological women can reach the top of the party.

What do you mean “which the activists say”?! Of course giving women’s posts to men dilutes the women’s chances to reach the top of the party! What else would it do?!

The vote will be put before conference on Saturday, but it is understood that trans rights activists will try to get it cancelled to avoid embarrassment. This is despite a YouGov poll showing that three-quarters of Lib Dem members do not support the party’s stance on allowing gender self-ID.

But they’re just members. They need to sit down and shut up and let the bosses give all the women’s party posts to men.

In May, Sir Ed said he accepted the Supreme Court ruling, but unlike Labour, he has done nothing to change the party’s rules.

Because it’s only women who are harmed so it doesn’t matter.

Zoe Hollowood, chairman of Liberal Voice for Women, said: “We hope that the conference will vote this time as traditional liberals and allow women to speak about updating our quotas.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has urged public bodies to comply with the Supreme Court ruling, and its guidance to be published soon will underline this.

Labour has already changed its rules to comply with the judgment, meaning women’s jobs cannot go to trans women.

Dr Hollowood said: “The EHRC has been clear that organisations need to get on with implementing the ruling and not wait for their guidance. It is now time at conference to make sure the Lib Dems do just that.

“We cannot continue to be derailed by a vocal and extremist group in the party, who tend to dominate these proceedings at conference.”

As they dominate so many things. Men like to dominate.

Ok ok but first we have to count the grains of sand in the Sahara.

The Scottish Government has been accused of repeatedly re-traumatising survivors of sexual violence by dragging its feet on implementing the Supreme Court ruling that clarified the definition of sex.

Speaking in a Holyrood debate on Wednesday, SNP MSP Michelle Thomson said the Government’s refusal to act swiftly following April’s judgment was “constantly re-triggering” for women who had experienced abuse.

Why is that? Because refusing to recognize women’s needs and concerns is abuse.

The motion before MSPs, lodged by Conservative MSP Pam Gosal, welcomed the Supreme Court’s ruling that the terms “man” and “woman” in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological sex. It congratulated the feminist campaign group For Women Scotland, which brought the case, and urged ministers to ensure their policies were updated “to be in line with the law”.

Over the weekend, Government lawyers confirmed they would contest the case.

Because women have no right to have rights. Only men have rights to have rights. Men who claim to be women especially have rights to have rights. Men who claim to be women are the most rightful of all.

Ms Thomson said she was wary of talking about herself but pushed herself to do so “as the Scottish Government has failed to engage with women who have been raped or sexually assaulted”.

“I am tired of being stuck in a Groundhog Day loop where the Scottish Government states it accepts the results of the Supreme Court judgment, insists it will definitely do something at some point — when that something is, and the timeframe, are never defined. They are asked again, they repeat the lines and so on.”

Because they love men who pretend to be women and hate women who just are women. The only good woman is a man, I guess.

Labour MSP Jackie Baillie told MSPs the Government could not be both “lawmakers and law breakers”.

She said the failure to act was creating confusion in the NHS and other frontline services, pointing to the costly employment tribunal involving nurse Sandie Peggie and NHS Fife.

“According to some estimates, the case of Sandie Peggie versus NHS Fife will eventually cost as much as a million pounds, not including any potential compensation. NHS Fife has already spent a quarter of a million pounds on legal fees alone, and it is the taxpayer and patients who will bear the costs.”

All because an entitled privileged man wants to pretend to be a woman.

Just because.

Obama suggests not inflaming more rage and violence. Trumpies call him every name in the book.

Obama said that he did not use a 2015 mass shooting by a white supremacist at a black church in South Carolina to go after his political enemies, and pointed out that after the 11 September 2001 attacks, President George W Bush “explicitly went out of his way to say, ‘We are not at war against Islam’.”

“And so when I hear not just our current president, but his aides, who have a history of calling political opponents ‘vermin’, enemies who need to be ‘targeted,’ that speaks to a broader problem that we have right now and something that we’re going to have to grapple with, all of us,” Obama told the crowd, according to reports.

In a statement to the BBC, a White House spokesperson rejected the allegations and accused Obama of stoking division while he was president. “Obama used every opportunity to sow division and pit Americans against each other,” the spokesperson said. “His division has inspired generations of Democrats to slander their opponents as ‘deplorables,’ or ‘fascists,’ or ‘Nazis.'”

Except that that’s not true. I frequently wished he would be fiercer, but that wish was never granted.

After leaving office, US presidents generally tend to temper criticism of their successors, however in recent months Obama has hit out at Trump’s moves against universities and judges, and has also criticised Democratic party leaders for failing to push back harder against White House policies.

No he hasn’t. He hasn’t “hit out at” anything. He doesn’t punch and he doesn’t threaten to punch. Criticizing is not hitting, nor is it hitting out. You’d think the BBC could manage to muster up enough brain power to realize that they’re accusing Obama of violent speech when all they’re talking about is criticism.

The locals are not thrilled.

Thousands have gathered in Parliament Square for a rally against US President Donald Trump’s second state visit.

Now that you mention it, why is he getting this grotesque lavish welcome? He’s been in office less than a year, and he’s horrible, so why the mad rush to throw him a very expensive party? Why the decision to give him anything at all other than a cold disdainful glare?

In the midst of the crowds – which started gathering near BBC Broadcasting House – people told the BBC why they were there, racking up a long list of grievances against the US president. They said they found him “despicable” and wanted to send a message that he was not welcome.

Reverend Poppy Hughes, who was asked about those who said vicars should be apolitical, replied: “Jesus preached peace and compassion and that’s why I’m here”.

See that’s what I keep saying – it’s not just political, it’s that he’s a terrible human being. He ticks almost every bad box and not one good box. It’s not just that he’s greedy and ruthless and aggressive, it’s that he’s self-centered and rude and mean and ignorant and a bully.

As the crowd moved, it paused outside Downing Street, which was being protected by officers from Wales and Northern Ireland.

Some of the demonstrators carried signs including “Duck Off Donald” and “Feed him to the Corgis”.

With some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

If you don’t like the history, just rewrite it.

The Trump administration has ordered the removal of signs and exhibits related to slavery at multiple national parks,according to four people familiar with the matter, including a historic photograph of a formerly enslaved man showing scars on his back.

The individuals, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak with the media, said the removals were in line with President Donald Trump’s March executive order directing the Interior Department to eliminate information that reflects a “corrosive ideology” that disparages historic Americans.

Those two sentences don’t quite go together. The first says Trump ordered the specific removals, the second says the removals are in line with the broad order. It’s not clear which one is the truth.

National Park Service officials are broadly interpreting that directive to apply to information on racism, sexism, slavery, gay rights or persecution of Indigenous people.

Why? Why not interpret it more narrowly until/unless told otherwise?

Anyway, the overall idea is obvious enough: pretend Our Grate Counntree has never done anything bad.

But then does Trump even think slavery was bad? I doubt it. I doubt he thinks about it at all, for one thing, and for the other thing I doubt he thinks about it very hard when it’s brought to his attention. He’s not a thinking guy. He’s a reactive guy and a boastful blabbermouth guy.

Park Service spokesperson Rachel Pawlitz said in a statement that all signage is under review.

Trump won’t have heard or read much about slavery and genocide when he was in school, because the US was shamefully slow about acknowledging the depth and breadth of what the pallid invaders did to the indigenous population and to the Africans they abducted for the purpose of enslavement. It’s free speech but you should be unemployed if you exercise it.

White House adviser Stephen Miller, on Monday called “left-wing political organizations that are promoting violence” a “vast domestic terror movement.” He and other administration figures have not provided specifics or evidence for their accusations.

“With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy these networks and make America safe again for the American people,” Miller said while appearing with Vice President JD Vance on a special tribute edition of Kirk’s podcast. “It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name,” he added.

The Scottish government just cannot get enough of hating women.

The Scottish Government has confirmed it will challenge For Women Scotland’s legal bid to remove guidance that allows male-born prisoners to be housed with women and permits transgender pupils to use single-sex facilities and sports in line with their gender identity.

Because women prisoners must not be allowed to be housed away from men and girls must not be allowed to use toilets or play sports away from boys. Female people must be punished and bullied or all the fun goes out of it. Why bother being trans if you can’t make women miserable?

For Women Scotland co-director Trina Budge accused Mr Swinney’s administration of “arrogance.” She told the Mail on Sunday: “The Supreme Court ruling should have been the final word on the matter but it seems the arrogance of the Scottish Government knows no bounds. How it thinks it can possibly continue to defend these policies as being lawful is simply beyond our comprehension.”

The group’s summons, served on Scottish Ministers, the Lord Advocate and the Advocate General, was formally called by the Court of Session on September 10 after ministers failed to withdraw the policies within the 21-day deadline. Government lawyers have now confirmed they will appear in court to defend the guidance.

Ms Budge added: “Since the Scottish Government failed to withdraw the schools and prisons guidance within the 21 days given, our summons was called by the Court of Session on September 10. They now have seven days to lodge any defence.

“The Scottish Government has confirmed on Thursday that they will be making an appearance at court and we look forward to hearing how they can possibly justify promoting policies that allow boys into the girls’ changing room and house male murderers alongside women prisoners.

“It flies in the face of their public statement about accepting the Supreme Court judgment, which of course ruled that single-sex spaces should be provided on the basis of biological sex, and not how someone identifies. We think this is a shameful action by the Scottish Government and are totally flummoxed at what they think they are doing.”
