    We went to an exhibit on the “relocation” at Skirball Cultural Center a few weeks ago. My wife had no idea of the racist things published in mainstream newspapers and magazines at the time; TIME, LIFE, NY Times, LA Times—nobody had really clean hands. She was in tears several times, I wept more than once.

    I used to have a button, maybe still do in a box somewhere, that says “I AM CHINESE.”
