And Canada! We are celebrating tomorrow as well. A labour picnic with hot dogs, corn, ice cream, pony rides, petting zoo, bouncy castle and entertainment.

SamBarge, that sounds like a blast! I wish a nice labor day to everyone reading, lurking, writing, and/or commenting here at B&W.

Of course, we forget that his first ‘album’ (back when 78s came in albums) had to be ‘corrected.’ Recorded under the Hitler-Stalin pact, it was full of pleas against Roosevelt’s ‘warmongering.’ But the Germans invaded Russia in the midst of its release, so the Popular Front, and the Second Front, became the politically correct positions.

The Popular Front ended – very abruptly – with the Hitler-Stalin pact. I think they were too embarrassed to call the post-invasion swivel the Popular Front All Over Again.

I’ve been posting Pete, and Utah Phillips and a bunch of other labor-related YouTube vids all day. I started with Joan Baez doing “Joe Hill” just after midnight.
