The setting is incredibly beautiful. (Then again, only a couple of hours up the road by car is Vancouver, which is even more beautiful than Seattle.) Things are balanced out a little by the fact that the architecture is mostly drab to ugly, and the only socially approved paint colors for houses are muddy greys, greens, and browns.
