I wonder how much of Afghanistan’s Buddhist antiquities have survived Islam? If any religion can be described as ‘agnostic’ or even ‘atheistic’, Buddhism, in its original conception, would be the most likely choice.
As an armchair archaeologist, I can’t help wondering if anything will be left in Syria after the devastation. Why are the so-called “Abrahamic” religions so inherently destructive and totalitarian?
