To be fair, the context of these tweets was more hassling of Lindsay Shepherd, who was told to stop using her laptop in a lecture.

I’m much more worried about people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Rita Panahi—people who should *know* better—who think Trump and the Republicans are much more reasonable than Democrats because the Republicans use Islam as a boogeyman and the Democrats use Islamophobia as a scolding scourge. It might be inevitable, but those ‘deep rifts’ in the skeptic community seem to have one edge close to falling off into fascism.
Shermer is a pathetic, whiny, grey excuse for a thinker. If his writing was food it would be white-bread toast, that’s been sitting on the bench on a damp day going slightly soft and tasteless for four hours. I’m both an atheist and a natural sceptic, but it’s people like him that make me very glad that I never felt any need to identify with the ‘Sceptic Movement’.
She was told to stop using her laptop in a lecture? I see lots of students taking notes on their laptops (or reading Facebook, or IM’ing, or browsing fashion sites).

Yes; she tweeted about it several days ago. She made the same point, emphasizing that taking notes on a lecture is pretty standard procedure.

There were, at least, quite a number of appropriate replies to Shermer’s “Losers” tweet, many of them expressing concern that he was well in his cups.
To me Shermer and his ilk are Social Injustice Warriors (SIWs).
Of course he’s a feminist; some of his best friends are femins.
You can’t speak up for Shepherd without ‘playing into the hands’ of Shermer. Nor can you mention the status of women in the Islamosphere without being co-opted by anti-immigrant racists.
Our politics are so twisted into fixed media packages that actual moral or intellectual integrity isn’t even considered.
Nothing new, If you’re anti-Nazi, you’re simple expected to accept show trials and pretend the Ukraine famine is ‘fake news.’
