Stellar ratings and an apology weren’t enough to mitigate Roseanne Barr’s racist comments, and now ABC is pulling the plug on “Roseanne.” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey says the network has decided to cancel the “Roseanne” reboot.
Dungey said in a statement, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”
It was either that or see everyone connected with Blackish walk out. They kept the better show.
She does get to be a Free Speech Martyr now though. Big bucks and fame there. Hello, Intellectual Dark Web!

If Roseanne has claims to being an intellectual…well, let’s just say that changes the meaning of the word as I know it. (Not that it wasn’t already stretched beyond recognition, even before the “intellectual dark web” became a thing).

This disgusting silencing and no-platforming of women has got to stop. Is it American Broadcasting Company or Pure Thought Company? Why should we put up with this compelled speech? What about the all-important ontological question? Can they even define “black”? If they can’t define black, how can we even know who’s being called a monkey and who isn’t? But no! As somebody who lives in Los Angeles, has friends who work in “Hollywood,” and has worked on the edges of H’wood herself, I’d like to point out that it wasn’t just Roseanne Barr who lost her job thanks to her hateful idiocy. It was dozens of people, many of whom are far from being millionaires. I’ve heard that the reboot was actually quite good; certainly, it featured two brilliant, world-class actors (John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf). All of these people are now out of work thanks to Barr.
Roseanne Barr should sit in the corner and think about what she did. For the rest of her life.

I used to love ‘Roseanne’. I didn’t even bother turning on the TV to see the reboot when I read she supports Trump. Because the only reason you would support Trump is because you are a racist. And oh look, Roseanne Barr is racist!
