As the fire’s rage
Speaking of Only in Trump’s White House…what other president, even the shittiest of them, ever decided the best thing to do when a state was suffering a disaster would be to shout abuse at its governor, in public? I don’t know of any. But for Trump it’s just another Sunday.
The Governor of California, @GavinNewsom, has done a terrible job of forest management. I told him from the first day we met that he must “clean” his forest floors regardless of what his bosses, the environmentalists, DEMAND of him. Must also do burns and cut fire stoppers…….Every year, as the fire’s rage & California burns, it is the same thing-and then he comes to the Federal Government for $$$ help. No more. Get your act together Governor. You don’t see close to the level of burn in other states…But our teams are working well together in………putting these massive, and many, fires out. Great firefighters! Also, open up the ridiculously closed water lanes coming down from the North. Don’t pour it out into the Pacific Ocean. Should be done immediately. California desperately needs water, and you can have it now!
How many thousands of square kilometers of forest and scrub in California again? Does your President realise he’s not talking about a golf course?
Not to mention, large portions of California are dry and naturally fire prone – and “raking” the forest floor will destroy the forest, not save it. And Trump’s an idiot.
Trump knows what his base wants to hear.
“All right, that’s it! I told and told and told you kids what would happen if you didn’t do what I say and now look — it’s all gone to hell just like I said it would. So guess what? You didn’t listen, you had to do it your lazy ass way, and now you come to me? No, no help. You can stew in your own mess. That’s what you deserve, rotten kids all of you!”
And they sit back and go “yesssss…”
It’s politics they can understand, and going the way it should.
Right up until they day they are in the path of the fires.
I wonder if he is so dismissive of R states facing emergencies… I seem to recall him rushing federal aid to those.
Didn’t he come out all sympathetic and high on promises when something happened in Alabama? Sorry, no time to Google that right now, but I do seem to remember that.
