It’s the latter that they’re so uppity about.
Magdalen is not horrible. “TERF” is just trans-english for “cunt.” We’re “uppity” because gloating about her terminal brain cancer is disgusting.
Uppity – an ages old put down of women who “don’t know their place”, usually flung at them by men who insist on being in control of all the goodies. McKinnon is really showing off the entitlement training.

Funny how it’s the outward aspects of stereotypical femininity like wardobe and cosmetics (https://twitter.com/rachelvmckinnon/status/1165665386135732226) that TRA TIMs spend so much time on without doing much with regards to the inner aspects of stereotypical femininity like empathy and gentleness*. Shouldn’t they be going for the whole enchilada instead of just the wrapper? Lipstick, glitter and heels are cheap and easy compared to dismantling patriarchal male socialization though, isn’t it? But if they’re really keen on playing this new “role” called “woman,” they might study the part a bit better before donning the costume and expecting everyone to believe the performance. Maybe they figure if they’ve still got a dick, they still get to be one?
* The above is a speculative comment that does a little “what-iffing.”Just to be clear for those who are just tuning in for the first time, I think people should be able to wear whatever the hell they want. I also think that men and women should both embody and exhibit strength and compassion, that the divying up of personality traits between “feminine” and “macsuline” is crippling, debilitating and harmful to both sexes. It’s a large part of the “gender” edifice which, it is my understanding, what feminism is trying to pull down.
And further to my above comment, TIMs were relying on women’s traditional, stereotypical, compassionate, other-concerned, go-along-to-get-along feminine socialization to extract admission to women-only spaces and teams. They thought they could end up with a “trans-centered feminism” and declare victory. When women say “No” and demand respect for their boundaries, TIMs become furious, just like entitled men. Funny that.
Yes, I think about that a lot. I think in some cases that’s the point – “Look, bitches, we can wear it better than you and we don’t take any shit.” Because let’s face it lots of men do think women just take the shit as opposed to having it forced on us. They do think they would do Woman better than we do.
But in other cases, McKinnon being conspicuous among them, it’s not getting what it is to take other people into account in the first place.
