I don’t think I have been angrier about something in this vein for a long time. This really takes the cake. It’s sinister, brazen. . .I don’t even know what to call it.

Plus…you know…literally violent. Literally literal. He was prevented from actually punching her in the face, but he did lunge at her while screaming “you fucking cunt” and that’s way more than literally violent enough.

Well, sure, but what about when someone uses words to say something with which I disagree? That’s literary violence!

Well now wait now. We need to know more. Is it words used by a trans woman about feminist women? No worries. Is it words used by feminist women about trans women? That’s top peak ultimate uttermost violence.

Just saw on Mumsnet somewhere—the UK’s Evening Standard just ran a piece about this with Julie’s picture, and no pic of her attacker.

The newspaper said this right before quoting Julie: “. . .her attacker, who she mis-identified as a man.”

Found it in the standard. Unbelievable. Emphasis mine.

“CONTROVERSIAL feminist writer Julie Bindel says she was “lunged” at last night by an activist who had to be restrained by security guards. Bindel, co-founder of Justice For Women, was leaving a panel event at Edinburgh University when she was approached by activist Cathy Brennan, a trans woman whom Bindel mis-identifies as a man. “He ran right at me, was inches away from me. His fists were raised and his face was twisted with hatred and anger,” Bindel told The Londoner this morning. ”

Somehow I suspect that a reporter from the Standard who had not been told that was a woman would have immediately jumped to “man jumping at woman with intent to do harm”. But because they have been made aware of the individual’s self-identification, they pretend that somehow it is unreasonable to call this person a man.

I have less stubble than that after a week of not shaving (and it’s not really stubble at this point either)… that is a FUCKING MAN…

Are we at the point where we need other men to protect feminists from men posing as women? ‘cuz it looks like we are…
