True enough. It’s utterly absurd and trivial…but on the other hand it played a large role in Trump’s election and will play a large role either way in the next one. It also plays a large role in disseminating and entrenching the ideology of “gender identity,” and also in talking back to it. I apologize for the many levels of meta.
It’s telling isn’t it? I mean, I know what a “Karen” is supposed to be, but if it wasn’t just a new way to scapegoat the 35-50ish female demo who apparently no longer have any worth to society they’d have used “Kim Davis”.
May be a sign of how jaded this year is making me or maybe I was this jaded all along but, at this point, I will roll about on the floor laughing if the right wing starts “OK Karen” every time Stacey Abrams says something should she become the VP pick. The edgelords will no doubt claim they are doing it in the cause of racial equality or something because why should only the “irritating” women of one race be karened? They will claim women of all races deserve to be treated with equal contempt.
I was so jaded before Trump, I’m not sure where I could go, but I am more jaded now…what would be the most appropriate gem for that? I may have to look it up.
