Commemorate THIS

Psssssst wanna buy a commemorative coin?

The White House gift shop, which is not affiliated to the White House, has started taking pre-orders for a “President Donald J. Trump Defeats COVID” commemorative coin.

It’s in the same department as the “President Donald J. Trump Walks On Water” coin and the “President Donald J. Trump spins shit into gold” coin.

Note: he has the virus, it caused him two drops in oxygen level and a fever, he tested positive Thursday and the virus is known to get much worse 7 to 10 days after infection, he is in at least two high-risk groups, and…the virus is still infecting thousands of people a day and killing many. Trump hasn’t in any sense defeated COVID. He hasn’t defeated his own case and he hasn’t defeated it as a national disaster.

More importantly he demonstrates to everyone that he lacks the courage of his loudly espoused conviction that covid is nothing by going to the hospital. The only upside to that is that his supporters might rise to the occasion and when they get it, they will refuse to go to the hospital. One can hope that their stupidity and gullibility are reliable.

I believe Sastra is right in this comment.

Trump keeps being upbeat and positive because he dare not be anything else, because he utterly believes that his fear would bring on the thing he most fears. Narcissists already think that the rest of the world only really exists in the narcissist’s mind; add ‘positive thinking’ bullshit on top of that predisposition and you get someone who can never, ever, admit to the existence of anything negative, even to themselves. And his attitude either rubs off on the people around him, or resonates with them (he gets rid of anyone he regards as negative in any way) and people who are afraid of reality are happy to follow this way of thinking, too. So making medals like that? They believe that, by making them, the words engraved on them will become true. The universe will ensure it.

Mary Trump was talking about that last night too – the positive thinking bullshit. He got it from Daddy, who was also a monster.

I predict those coins are going to be worth a lot some day.

Well they don’t ship until after he might’ve died from it, so who knows?

They certainly aren’t worth the asking price at the moment.

Well, son no.2 seems to think so. Eric, who would be considered the stupid one in any other family but is just par for the course in his own, has claimed publically that his father ‘literally saved Christianity’.

Little Eric was giving a radio interview in N. Dakota when, in an obvious attempt to claw his way into his dad’s list of top three favourite sons (yes, I do know how many he ((officially)) has), he made this claim:

“He literally saved Christianity, there’s a war on faith in this country by the other side. I mean, the Democratic Party, the far left, has become the party of the quote-unquote atheist, they want to attack Christianity, they want to close churches, they want to – they’re totally fine keeping liquor stores open, but they want to close churches all over the country,”

It sounds very much like he’s picked up his father’s style of speech – ‘they want to – they’re totally fine..’ It’s what I think of as the ‘keep mouth running ahead of thoughts’ method.

The journalist for the Independent wasn’t entirely convinced that the boy blunder had made the case for his father-as-saviour, following the Trump quote with:

Even with Eric Trump’s clarification, it was not immediately clear what he meant when he said his father “literally saved Christianity.”

As if it’s immediately clear what anything uttered by any Trump might really mean.

Well, I’m not so sure I’m that fine keeping liquor stores open in a pandemic, either, but at least in a liquor store, you can have only a few people, they aren’t sitting crammed up next to each other, they aren’t instructed to turn around and shake hands, they aren’t sharing a cup (we never did in the church where I grew up), they aren’t singing together…the list of dangerously irresponsible pandemic things in a church goes on…but in a liquor store, if you tried, you could control traffic, limit the number of people, and make sure no one is in the danger zone. So, yeah, picking between the two…close the churches. And the gyms. And the sports stadiums, movie theatres, and (groan) live theatre…or get sensible policies in place like masks, don’t sit close, don’t hug, don’t sing, etc etc etc.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Trump actually destroyed Christianity by allowing the fools to spread a lethal virus? Yeah, I know, the death rate probably isn’t high enough, but it would be funny.
