And pigs have wings.

Updating to add:

The scientist is Emma Hilton @FondOfBeetles, who has just co-published a paper on the subject, so naturally her reply has to be hidden.

Playing on boy’s teams as a youth isn’t evidence of anything until after puberty.

Of course, I don’t have to tell anyone here that evidence shows there is a distinct advantage men have over women, even on estrogen. And putting boys on puberty blockers does not make them develop the same as girls, because girls go through puberty.

Do they just spout nonsense for fun?

I never cease to be amazed at the ability of the human mind, male or female, to come up with stories that dovetail neatly with its owner’s felt needs. The psychologists have a term for it which escapes me at the moment. Rationing? No. Ratio and proportion? No. Bullshitisation? No.

I’m sure it will come to me eventually.

And they don’t want facts or science to spoil that fun, either. This “Bright” person actually hid Dr. Emma Hilton’s response, which linked to her own research on exactly this subject.

    iknklast, re:

I’m afraid that I have to disagree with you on this. It’s clear evidence of a dearth of girls’ teams in many sports. It’s also evidence that Kathryn Dim Bulb doesn’t understand that if boys and girls play on the same team then it is not, by definition, a boys’ team but a mixed-sex team.

So even if it was true, which it’s not, that trans women have an advantage over cis women of the same skill level, you’d not even see an advantage in the levels of sports that Tulsi Gabbard’s bill applies to.

So there’s no difference in performance between trans women and cis women of the same skill level.

The whole point is moot anyway because after a few years on estrogen, trans women have no performance advantage over cis women.

So the difference in performance between trans women and cis women of the same skill level is mitigated by several years of hormone therapy.

Wait. Hold on. Those two claims are incompatible. Are you trying to pull a fast one?

And when we’re talking youth sports, trans girls on puberty blockers and then estrogen go through the same development as cis girls.

Really? Really? A trans girl begins ovulating and shedding the lining of her uterus on a monthly cycle?

… the hell do you think puberty blockers do?

Jeezzzzzzoooosssssss. The craziness in Western societies is not just on the religious right!

Sorry, I posted a link to this article in the Miscellany Room, about Tulsi Gabbard’s bill, and I missed that all this was backlash about the bill. (The bill specifies that Title IX protections for women apply in fact to women, not to men who claim to be women.) I should have posted here in the first place.

Odd how the trans cult never brings up how teams of teen boy soccer plays regularly trounce the most elite level teams of adult real women.

…there aren’t even really gender differences until you reach the most elite levels of sport, and even then it’s iffy.

Note the weasel words – this is an admission that there is a difference in the athleticism of the genders sexes, at least at the upper level of competition.

I’m seeing more and more of this flavour of bullshit around puberty – a sort of assumption that all kids are an identical, sexless blank slate. If you apply Chemical A, they grow into an adult woman, and Chemical B turns them into an adult man. Which, obviously, is insane – humans are sexed from conception, and the “right” puberty is the one specific to the existing sex of the body, allowing them to correctly mature into an adult. But it’s been reduced to secondary sex characteristics like body hair and breasts, which are honestly just one step away from hair dye and fashion choices in terms of the sex binary.

And then they accuse rad fems of “reducing us to our biology”. No, we are our biology. That is real. But rad fems think that doesn’t make us automatically rational or irrational, nurturing or aggressive, able to do math or not, etc etc on down to preferences for pink or blue.

Anyone who refers to “uterus-havers” is reducing a person to their biology.
