Justice

You already know, but just to get things started…

You reap what you sow.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus, the President announced early Friday morning, an extraordinary development coming months into a global pandemic and in the final stretch of his reelection campaign.

Good.

He’s been laughing and jeering and sneering, he’s been putting other people in danger in their thousands, he’s kneecapped the national response to the pandemic so thoroughly that we have the worst death toll in the world, so it’s only fair that he should get it himself.

The White House doctor says

The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.

The fact that they’re “well at this time” means nothing. The disease can start out mild and then become not mild and then kill you.

Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.

Blah blah blah. Virus gonna do what virus does.

I hope he recovers and lives a long life, so that he can experience the humiliation of a landslide defeat, pennilessness, and a long prison sentence for his crimes.

Let him suffer one hour for each US life lost to COVID.

This may be a good time to recall that Trump recently did win a Ig Nobel Prize along with several other luminaries:

MEDICAL EDUCATION PRIZE [BRAZIL, UK, INDIA, MEXICO, BELARUS, USA, TURKEY, RUSSIA, TURKMENISTAN]

Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil, Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom, Narendra Modi of India, Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico, Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, Donald Trump of the USA, Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan, for using the Covid-19 viral pandemic to teach the world that politicians can have a more immediate effect on life and death than scientists and doctors can.

And a followup (?) study from yesterday.

He didn’t carry out his duties before he got sick; why should it be any different now? He’ll do what he always does – watch television and Tweet.

Are they preparing a course of IV bleach and rectal UV light?

Though intubation might shut him the fuck up.

That’s around 23 years of suffering. Sounds good to me.

The line that keeps running through my head is

Where’s Darwin when you need him?

I don’t quite have the brass to take it out of quotes and say it in my own voice.

I hope he becomes severely sick but not dead, so that he can be severely sick in addition and then go on to the things you said.

Let’s all pray for him, that always helps. A two week quarantine will probably make him more obnoxious and gloaty than usual. Maybe save a few lives too, no campaign super speader events.

I want Trump and Pence both incapacitated before the election, but aware enough to see Nancy Pelosi assume the presidency, and the eventual Biden win.

Oh, and ditto for McConnell, Graham, and enough GOP senators to scuttle the Barrett nomination. A fella can dream.

    Holmes,

    Yes, that too.

Ah, yes, that would be good.

Maybe the virus heard him refuse to say he’d leave the White House and decided to help out. No, the virus actually benefits from having him in the White House. So maybe not.
