Michigan Senator thinks he doesn’t have to answer questions.
This morning, I asked @SenMikeShirkey if he would honor the will of Michigan voters in his meeting with Trump today. He responded by singing a hymn about being persecuted: pic.twitter.com/IQRXokq9F2
Wow, that’s revolting. I’ve seen religious people use this tactic before, it’s like sticking your fingers in your ears and saying “lalalalalalalalalalalala….” Childish and dismissive, from the Public Service Handbook, Trump edition. Originally used by religious people with no reasoning skills or answers other than “Because God.” :P
Way down the Twitter thread Ophelia posted is a link to this good article on what looks to be an excellent blog on religion and politics. They critically and insightfully examination the intersection of various forms of evangelical Christianity and conservative Catholicism with politics, and critique the often simplistic treatment of the subject by the media. https://religiondispatches.org/its-not-about-facts-or-fear-what-many-liberals-get-wrong-about-religious-conservatives/

“Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
Mathew 18:3
I’d say Sanctimonious Shirkey considers himself as good as there.
