New outbreaks in Asia, Europe and the Middle East are renewing fears of a coming global pandemic, even as the spread in China appears to be slowing.
RIGHT NOW “We are asking the American public to prepare for the expectation that this might be bad,” a C.D.C. official said.

The coming pandemic may be the first time Trumplodytes really slams face first into reality. No amount of Fox spinning, McConnell enabling, or Twitter denial will work against a highly contagious organism with a fatality rate of at least 2.5%. Of course it may mainly hit urban areas so….
One of the responses on the above linked tweet warned about the possibility of Trump grabbing emergency powers should the pandemic hit the US.
Not that he could have had the foresight to plan this in his gutting of CDC/DHS pandemic response resources, but I could see him taking advantage of the chaos and lack of coordination were it to happen.
Good to hear that the stock market is recovering. Because of course when there’s a potential outbreak of a deadly disease, the stock market is the main concern.
And when shit hits the fan, trumpkins will cry “fake news”, “deep state”, “red flag” “hired actors”.
