As an apology to all the people who (quite reasonably) are not entirely fond of posts based on random tweets from random people, a completely random tweet from someone I don’t know that is its own justification.

That is a great picture. As a hobbyist photographer, I am more than a little jealous.
That’s nice. And you really don’t need to apologize so much. Much as I dislike twitter, I can still get the gist of what is being said. Not that twitter is much good for anything more, in my opinion. (But on the subject of twitter, I am a bigot – and proud of it.)

They look like little cops or little curious tourists – “Hey whatcha doin?”
I think it’s the slight downward slope of the upper line of the eyes (making them look slightly angry) and the all-gray colouring that make them look ‘official’ to me.
Also that huffy puffed-out look.

I’m imagining the photographer saying “hello, friendly birds” in Homer Simpson’s voice, right before the pigeons go all Hitchcock on him.
For what it’s worth, I think you do a much better job than most bloggers I’ve read at filling in the context. I’m rarely sufficiently flummoxed to have to click through and work out what’s going on.
What are they standing on?
