No they didn’t

India Willoughby is appropriating the Nazi persecution of lesbian and gay people to himself.

The Nazis made gay men wear pink triangles.

There was no such thing as an “LGBTQ” library in Nazi Germany. The category did not exist. India doesn’t call himself a gay man, he calls himself a woman.

Didn’t happen.

It seems to me that India’s keyboard is actually an intellectual vomit machine. He spouts so much easily refuted crap, that it’s a wonder he has any followers at all.

None of the parties in this debate make sense. Mad Man Moon sounds as stupid as India Willloughby. “Trans identities were encouraged in the [Nazi] ranks”?? Trans “identities” wasn’t a thing until, what, the 1990s at the earliest? (Yes, I know, there were a tiny number of transsexuals before then. Not an “identity”, and certainly not “encouraged” by anyone.)

Maybe India was thinking of the great library of Alexandria, sacked and destroyed by a Christian mob; a long time ago now, way back in history.

I read a play a while back about a man who claimed to be a woman living in the time of the Nazis. He ran some sort of museum. The Nazis largely left him alone.

I don’t know that I would call his a “trans identity”. I doubt he would call it that himself. That wasn’t a phrase back then. He liked dressing as a woman, like having a woman’s name, and lived as a woman. He didn’t insist the entire society remake itself around him.

Poor Jonathan, it must be a burden to be so hated. I suppose the Romans and the Vikings hated trans too, all the historical hate culminating in Hitler and continuing to this day. Such a grand narrative, and he tells it so well. :P

The tweeter is probably thinking of Martin Dammann’s book Soldier Studies.

I wonder if people “transition” so they can transfer their self hatred to others, especially others who don’t actually hate them. Maybe victimhood relieves the pressure of self loathing. It doesn’t resemble mental health at all.

    Probably thinking of this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institut_für_Sexualwissenschaft

They’re still wrong, just wanted to point to what they seem to be halfway-remembering.

  9. […] Anna reminds us, Weimar Germany did have a sexuality institute which the Nazis did destroy. […]
