Lawyers for a US woman who has accused Prince Andrew of sexual assault are seeking proof of the British royal’s alleged inability to sweat.
Virginia Giuffre’s legal team made the request as part of a civil case against the prince in a New York court.
Ms Giuffre, 38, alleges that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager at the homes of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied the allegations.
In a 2019 interview with BBC Newsnight, he said a “problem” with her account was that a medical condition at the time meant he could not have been sweating, as she claims he was.
So now they want him to produce evidence of that there medical condition.
This minor detail is funny in its way, but the story as a whole is utterly revolting – filthy rich adults sex trafficking teenage girls. Those girls couldn’t identify their way out of that prison.
I guess he doesn’t realize how ludicrous his claim is. From a medical standpoint, can’t sweat is about one step away from can’t breathe. Conceivable, yes, but virtually never observed because anyone with such a condition would soon die of hyperthermia.
He’d have been forced to a nocturnal existence, fearing the sun, eschewing physical exertion, and possibly carrying water bottles to cool himself, like an emphysema patient toting an O2 bottle.
Perhaps the lie came naturally to him because in his mind royals don’t sweat, in the same way that royals don’t work.

I see that Steven@1 beat me to it, but I’ll second the comment. My meager medical training as a first responder was not at all uncertain on the point that if someone has stopped sweating, then they are in the midst of a critical medical emergency and must be evacuated to definitive care (viz., an ER) right away.
So color me disbelieving of this particular defense.

So it’s temporary, he claims. Well, if it occurred in the military, it would have affected his ability to meet minimum physical standards, and it would be recorded in military records. It would also have affected his ability to engage in sports like skiing. And physicians state the exact opposite of what he claims.
I’m pretty sure we’ll see him sweat in the witness box…

It enrages me when I see Megan Markle treated like The Worst Royal whenever she does something completely ordinary, while the royal who was best mates with the sleazy guy populating his parties with teenage girls gets the “innocent until proven guilty” treatment. Allegations against Epstein first surfaced when Andrew’s daughters were 17 and 15 years old. He was literally faced with teenage girls every day in his own home, and pretends that he couldn’t recognise girls of that age elsewhere. I don’t believe for a second that he would have been happy for his own daughters to attend an Epstein party and be pawed at by men in their forties, as shown in the photo of him and Virginia Guiffre.

Well, yeah, Roj, Mountbatten was very close to Charles according to biographies. A sort of father figure who gave him the attention that Philip denied him. So, we can only speculate on the sort of thing that may have entailed. It’s just a nasty family, elevated so highly by their rank. I still don’t understand the fascination with royalty in Europe, considering the historical abuses that these gilded inheritors have heaped.

I was wondering how he could have served in the military with such a crippling condition. Now he says it’s some sort of PTSD triggered BY his Falklands experiences.
So he stopped sweating in 1982, still wasn’t sweating in 2000 when he fucked Giuffre, and magically started again sometime since?
