Yet another of these patronizing “reminders” of utter bullshit, and in this case harmful bullshit.
Here’s your periodic reminder that it is ONLY women who need abortion.
(Abortion, not “abortion care.” Is she squeamish about abortion? So squeamish that she feels she has to try to veil it?)
It is only women who need abortion. That includes women who claim to be trans men, and women who claim to be the meaningless “non-binary.” Be trans or non-binary all you like, but if you’re pregnant, then you’re a woman.
Trying to hide the fact that it’s women and women only who need abortion rights just makes it harder to fight for those rights…those rights which just took a massive blow to the knees. Distracting people with gender lies will not help anyone.
The crazy rabbi throws in the extraordinary bit — men and non-binary people get abortions, too!— right after the stunningly banal “reminder” that not all women get abortions. So if you were thinking elderly women in nursing homes are getting abortions as a general thing, then her gentle nudge should stir your recollection on why probably not. Very useful.
Your periodic (read: monthly) reminder that any transman who’s pregnant must be acutely aware that she’s a woman.
So are these “reminders” going to become a ‘thing’ on Twitter? If so, I’m even more glad I’m not on it.
So, the context here is that Texas has effectively outlawed all abortion, with the Supreme Court’s blessing, and the Rabbi’s concern is that somewhere out there is a trans man who is reading commentary about this and thinking BUT THEY’RE NOT TALKING ABOUT MEEEEEEEEE!!!!
That’s who the good rabbi is concerned about. Not the destruction of civil rights, the abuse of the judicial process, the fear of the women who need abortions and have no idea how they’re going to get them, or the workers at abortion clinics who are likely to lose their jobs, but the fact that some special snowflakes are going to be hurt that we are not “centering” them and making this all about them.

Glinner’s recent article about the Irish abortion law repeal highlighted the efforts to shoehorn trans demands into the bill. A TiM tweeted, paraphrased, “This is great, I can’t wait to have an abortion someday.” Abortion validates identity, don’cha know.
This is disgusting. While women all over the world are being denied their right to control their own reproduction, this asshole is acting like it’s something women do as a rule for recreation. More proof they are not women. I have never heard any woman say this. Abortion is a heart rending decision, often made in desperate circumstances, not a trendy activity that “girls” do for a lark.
