Who owns public space?
I’ve watched this clip multiple times since yesterday – there’s a lot going on and it’s not possible to take in all of it in one viewing.
One boy kicks a girl as she runs past, one spits on a girl as she runs past, they all spread out over the platform so that they’re in the way of anyone who is trying to get on the train.
Cis female privilege in action yeah?
Yeah, that looks like a real bunch of punks, just messing with people for sport. Almost all their behavior is designed to look like accidents: One kicks a girl “accidentally” while dismounting his bike. Two repeatedly “accidentally” swerve their bike at the last second toward people to try to knock them down. I think the one punk is lunging at people (not spitting, since he has a mask on) to try to to startle them.
I’m a little skeptical that the worst victim’s injuries were minor. She hit her legs hard on the concrete and who knows what her head hit on the way down. If she only had minor injuries, then that was good luck (after the bad luck of falling just perfectly into the gap).
Hopefully they’ll catch the punks.
I didn’t say that because I was just making it up, I said it because I read a story that reported her parents said she’s ok physically but not emotionally.
And they’re not just messing with people, either. What is this urge to minimize obvious violent bullying? Kicking people isn’t “messing with” them.

Holy shit, that guy with the swipe at her ankles with his bike. I’d have tackled that particular fucker to the ground to await police.
Seriously – but that’s from watching the surveillance video. On the ground I bet nobody saw what happened. Everything they do is lightning fast, plus they’re milling back and forth the entire time so that it’s hard to see what’s happening even on the video.
