The Tavistock gender clinic is facing mass legal action from youngsters who claim they were rushed into taking life-altering puberty blockers.
Mass legal action? How mass?
Lawyers expect about 1,000 families to join a medical negligence lawsuit alleging vulnerable children have been misdiagnosed and placed on a damaging medical pathway.
Yikes! Very mass!
They are accusing the gender identity development service [GIDS] at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust of multiple failures in its duty of care.
Starting with failing to be not credulous idiots. These are doctors, not teenagers; why did they fall for this destructive nonsense?
This includes allegations it recklessly prescribed puberty blockers with harmful side effects and adopted an “unquestioning, affirmative approach” to children identifying as transgender.
For reasons that are not medical but political.
Last month we learned that GIDS was closing.
The law firm Pogust Goodhead has since announced it is pursuing a group litigation order against the trust, which has treated 19,000 children with gender dysphoria (the feeling that one’s emotional and psychological identity differs from one’s birth sex) since 1989.

The allegations of medical negligence are based on the findings of an interim report by Dr Hilary Cass, a former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, who is leading a review of the service.
If the gender clinic had listened to a few terfs maybe they would have spared themselves and a lot of kids this horrible outcome.
Holy crap! And that’s just the kids who the lawyers think are prepared to go through the trauma of a trial. who knows how many others are deeply unhappy but are not prepared to go public.
Have the lawyers any actual clients yet? It sounds like they’re “anticipating” those numbers.
This would pose an interesting dilemma for TRAs.
Do they claim that these thousand kids are trans kids, who have been brainwashed by parents and lawyers into thinking they’re not, while insisting that nobody can be socially influenced into thinking that they ARE trans?
Or do they claim that these thousand kids were never really trans to begin with, in which case they’re admitting that clinicians screw up and give hormones to kids who don’t need it?

Who could have possibly foreseen a development like this.? It is obviously way off the chart. Well, off somebody’s chart, anyway.
It’s the age-old misogyny.
Don’t listen to those old women over there, they’re just old women. Nobody listens to old women.
Especially when we have all these men and attractive young women screaming at us if we don’t listen to them.
Besides, we’re making a nice living here, giving kids what their hot young mothers insist they want.

I tried to find something more definitive about the “1,000 families” but couldn’t. But I did see a reddit “trans uk” wherein the inhabitants were mocking the very idea of it. Saying it was parents wasting their trans-kids inheritances. Also, that Tavistock’s biggest crime was moving too slowly. Psychotherapists (spelled differently) and social workers (or “wankers”) doing their nasty “gatekeeping” so that trans-kids couldn’t get to the wonderful endocrinologists fast enough.
I’m still waiting for the scientific paper that establishes “trans-genderism” as a real thing as opposed to a mental health issue.
I wonder if TRAs on FTB or wherever will get round to commenting on this. Will the responses be concern for the children? I’m guessing it will instead be about fake studies harming trans children etc.
It is not clear whether Pogust Goodhead are representing any families as yet, or whether they are, in effect, touting for business. They promote themselves as specialists in ‘large scale group litigation against organisations that mistreat, mislead, or injure people’.
The company was formerly known as PGMBM; the change of name to Pogust Goodhead was announced three days ago, on 8th August.
There are 45 reviews of PGMBM on Trustpilot; 80% of these rank their service as ‘Poor’.
In other words, spending their own money on something they consider valuable.
I have never complained about my dad “spending my inheritance” when he used his money. It isn’t “my inheritance”. It’s his money. And the fact that he is in a very good retirement home pleases me, rather than angers me because I might get less money when he dies.
Meanwhile, the “trans” kids have been mutilated, sterilized, had their growth stunted, had healthy bits hacked off – for what other illness/delusion/belief would we do this? This is more like FGM (and MGM – not the movie studio) than affirmative surgery.

Polly Carmichael, director of the Tavistock Gender and Identity Service since 2009, is no spring chicken. Bernadette Wren, consultant clinical psychologist, post-modernist, and public defender of the GIDS approach, retired from the NHS in 2020.
Night crow, haven’t you heard about multi-generational age? It’s just like multi-racial whiteness, only about age. If you hold the right views, you are not one of those old women over there, you are one of these young women over here. If you hold the wrong views, it doesn’t matter how young you are, you’re one of the old women over there.
So shut up, Karen. That’s the message.
