How dare they tell a woman

Kamala Harris still says the W word.

Those Republican leaders who are trying to weaponize the use of the law against women — well, we say, “How dare they?” How dare they tell a woman what she can do and cannot do with her own body? How dare they? How dare they try to stop her from determining her own future? How dare they try to deny women their rights and their freedoms?

She then used a term too few Democrats employ: “freedom.” “We must link arms in this fight. I invite all people to join us,” she said. “If you stand for freedom, for self-determination, for the right to privacy — if you stand for these principles, stand with us.” She added that “women’s issues are America’s issues. And democracies — democracies cannot be strong if the rights of women are under attack.”

Five appearances of the word there, and several of she and her. It is still possible!

I wonder if (she/her) knows about the women’s rights that are under attack from the trans cult. Maybe if (she/her) is still using the word ‘woman’ there’s still hope. Ditch the pronouns Madam Vice President. Please.

I saw a sarcastic Facebook post (I think it originated on Twitter) saying, paraphrased: “And just like that, everyone suddenly remembered what a woman is.”

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the number of people in my circle of acquaintances who are genderists but nonetheless are referring to “women” and “women’s rights”.

Abortion rights are yes; actual, sex based, exclusive to females, women’s rights. A feminist issue. Not the fun kind.

There is an article in RAW STORY about the faults in Alito’s draft opinion, in which the words ‘woman’ & ‘women’ are studiously avoided. It’s ‘pregnant people’ all the way down.

Oh and in fact the second paragraph corrects Alito for saying “women.”

Sorry I don’t have a better source on this than a screencap in a tweet by someone I’ve never heard of, but… supposedly the AP Style Guide now says that phrases like “pregnant people” should be reserved for stories where trans or nonbinary people are the focus and not be terms of general use?
