He understands it now. He’s the HR guy, and was the HR guy when they pushed Maya out, but he didn’t understand that there are predatory men, and that women have to be cautious because there are.
Yes, “presence of TW would make uncomfortable” in some circumstances, because TW=men. Women are allowed to be cautious around men in particularly risky situations. We have to be, for our own safety, therefore we are allowed to be. It’s not “offensive.”
Yes, because some men are predatory. He’s not quick, this man. He doesn’t understand what’s said to him easily.

I am aware of several men (and boys) who would gladly dress up as women to get into the women’s room. But he ignores another issue: men don’t have to dress as women to be called transwomen. All they have to do is say “I feel like a woman” or “I’m in girl mode today” and they are fine. In fact, if the policy is like at my job, they don’t even have to do that. If they are in the women’s room, you are required to assume they are women and not point out that this is the women’s room or ask them to leave.
So, an argument that has no legs, no teeth, and no basis in reality But.,..that doesn’t make it much different from other trans arguments.
In that case, the argument would be: No man would say he was a woman unless he believed it, because he would find it degrading, since society hates women so much. (I used to believe this myself. Not that it matters, really, because even if a man does believe that he is a woman he can still be predatory.)
Well then. In that case there’s really no possible counter-argument. Checkmate, TRAs!

I’m now wondering when HR departments became the new priestly class. Sometime before Diversity/Equality/Inclusiveness became the new workplace religion, I’d say.
