What exactly is a no-fault suspension? Is it the party’s way of saying “it’s not you, it’s us”?
I wondered the same thing. It’s a very odd pairing – “this is your no-fault punishment.”
Back in 1975, my grandfather died at the wheel of his car, which swerved across the road and hit a bus head-on. The bus driver was put under a no-fault suspension until the inquest which cleared him of all responsibility. My grandfather had suffered a catastrophic brain-bleed and was dead before his car hit the bus. The road conditions were such that the driver had no way of avoiding the collision, but neither he nor any other people on the bus were hurt. It was a very low-speed crash.
At the time, the rules were clear (and probably still are). Any bus (or train) driver involved in any incident would be suspended from duty until the investigation was completed. That avoids reasonable apprehension in the minds of passengers.
This situation, though, has no such justification. Unless the party has suspended each and every person involved in the discussion on both sides, they have shown prejudice towards Teal and are likely to fall foul of the Forstater decision and others which have established that it is lawful to express gender critical beliefs.

Also…in addition to singling out one person instead of all involved, there’s a Why question anyway. People like bus drivers and pilots are suspended for reasons based in public physical safety, surely – suspend the driver pending investigation in case it was dangerous driving. There’s no dangerous driving in saying things in a parliament. It’s more of this stupid hyperbolic catastrophizing, isn’t it.
Ophelia, I agree heartily. It’s more of this insane notion: ‘everyone (who agrees with the cult) must feel safe at all times. Being made to listen to anything other than our mantras, or think anything at all, makes us feel unsafe’.

Meanwhile, the actual adults who are willing to speak up for reality don’t have to be safe, let alone feel safe. They deserve real-life threats and actual injury, for not being nice to people who refuse to grow up.
I wish we could suspend all of them pending an investigation.
If “safety” is an issue here, I imagine that women and gays should be able to express that they don’t feel safe when they are dismissed as irrelevant when trans issues are discussed, surely?
Totally off topic, but perhaps Alison should consider a move down under where the “Word of the Year 2022” is teal!
