It sounds like the poor Dr. really just wanted to put his fingers in his ears and shout NYAH NYAH NYAH I CAN’T HEAR YOU I CAN’T HEAR YOU.
I don’t know, when I get questions after a talk that seem ‘off’ to me, I don’t think about how stupid and evil the audience is, I think about how I can redo my talk to make sure I get my points across in a way the audience understands.
Does he really think that the rest of us don’t know that marks like that can be created by 5 seconds of moderate pressure, with no physical or psychological pain at all? I’ve got up with pillow case creases on my face that were more severe than that.
