Why should we listen to YOU?

We keep seeing them, men breezily giving away women’s rights. There’s an endless supply of such men.

Yes, how dare girls’ schools continue to be girls’ schools. Never mind the fact that girls flourish in girls’ schools – add some boys to the mix anyway, because Tom Harwood is fine with it.

Sean Gunn, of course, absolutely merits being listened to. I wonder what the difference might be.

But clearly Sean Gunn knows far more about why JK Rowling should STFU than JK Rowling knows about what a woman is.

How is it possible that at no point, not a single day, has an intelligent person such as yourself woken up, looked in the mirror, and said to yourself, “maybe I should STFU about this because I might not know what I’m talking about?”

Gosh, Sean, that’s a good question. How would you answer it?

    Tom Harwood:

Young trans girls are indistinguishable from their non-trans friends.

If you mean their non-trans friends who are boys, you’re right. Boys who say they are girls are indistinguishable from other boys. If that’s not what you mean, then what planet are you living on? Not this one, certainly. Indistinguishable? my foot. School age boys are patently distinguishable from girls in a very basic, fundamental way. They are distinguishable on the basis of their sex.

Girls learn this distinction early. I was picked on — by boys — starting in kindergarten. Girls were never the ones who got their jollies out of flipping up the girls’ skirts. Girls never twisted my arm behind my back bacause they “liked” me. Girls are well aware of the salient differences between boys and girls from a very early age.

    “Indistinguishable.” Liar.

It’s like a hyper version of “I don’t see color.”

“But don’t you think the history of racial oppression needs to be dealt with more adequately?”

“No, I’m telling you. I DON’T SEE COLOR. Neither do you. Nobody ever has. Or can. Everyone is indistinguishable from everyone else. They decided who would be slaves by rolling dice.”

I had to google Sean Gunn because I had no idea who he is. So, since he’s not a billionaire and not an author, he has the gravitas needed to comment here, and expertise automatically given to men assigned mansplainer at birth.
