It’s immensely regressive. Typical patriarchal possession. “You’re only what I allow you to be.”
The reason they can only find a platform in the right-wing publications is that the left-wing publications have turned regressive, not that they have abandoned progressivism. Force women into a position where they can only publish in the right wing, then pretend they are from the right wing. Nice little scheme there?
It also belies the commonly repeated refrain that the media is relentlessly pro-TERF. If they can’t find platforms in the progressive papers, how can those papers be pro-TERF?
Oh, dear, look at me. Trying to make illogic logical again! I had a boss tell me one time that the problem with me is that I expected things to make sense and be logical. He’s right. I do. I don’t see it as a problem (and neither did he, but he was trying to explain a stupid policy even he didn’t think made sense, and was basically just telling me it was illogical, but it was policy, so get used to it). Trying to make anything trans logical and consistent is a fool’s game.
