If I recall correctly, the “Liberal Party” in Australia is actually the major center-right party; it’s Labour that’s on the left.
Screechy, once they may have been “centre right” but the last 30 years have pulled them so far right that they now imitate the worst of the GOP. Sadly, Labor hasn’t stuck to its once staunchly left principles, and now occupies the ground the Liberals held until the start of this century.
Anyone who has followed @salltweets (Sall Grover) will be watching this space. We already know she is one tough woman and won’t give up. Once her legal fight (Giggle v Tickle) is over, Sall will be spearheading the launch of a Woman’s Issues party. If it occurs, I will support it as women’s issues are men’s issues too. Without strong, motivated, and loving women in our lives, we men have nothing.
The Liberal party has never been liberal since (or before) Ming the Merciless gave it that name back in 1945.
Maybe it’s time to form an Australian We-Know-What-Sex-Is party. The suggestion is serious; the name’s a joke. There was an Australian Sex Party (ugh) though they eventually changed the name to the Reason Party (double ugh – shades of ‘brights’)
