Surprisingly stupid

Kenny Farq is miffed that his staggeringly banal and clueless “let’s you compromise” column is attracting contempt and derision.

Who could have predicted that anyone would write such an absurdly clueless column for a serious newspaper?

I’m astonished, I say astonished, to find that my call for compromise in the trans debate means I’m getting pelters from both sides. I mean, honestly, who could have predicted that?

Is that supposed to be sarcasm or wit, or is he genuinely so useless at his job that he forgot what he actually wrote in his ‘call for compromise’?

There is something about the trans issue that brings out the irrational, the visceral, the absolutist. […] We are close to a compromise on the trans issue that will satisfy neither side of a deep divide. In fact each will greet a deal with dismay. […]. I sometimes get the feeling diehards on each side of this argument would rather lose than compromise. Defeat would require no giving of ground.

This is supposed to be sarcasm and wit. He doesn’t take the subject seriously, nor is he abashed by criticism.

What is even the point of him? Who needs a columnist as stupid as that?

To his question, yes, I would rather lose than compromise. At least a loss of a basic concept like “women’s rights, words and spaces refers to the female sex and not males who demand it” is a basis to wake up the public and get normiie outrage deployed in the right direction. A “compromise” like he suggests requires mounting recorded losses, indeed actual deaths before it can be reversed.
